Packrat Movers

Up front, we received a very good quote and friendly service. The manager assured us that a 7-ton truck would fit all of our things. We had concerns about this, and raised them several times, going so far as to give him measurements of the largest items; wooden beams we were storing. He repeatedly said, "no problem" and "these trucks are big, you'll see." We also had concerns about some antique furniture being damaged and were told they'd shrink wrap and blanket everything.

Sadly I would not recommend these guys. I had read all the great reviews, and indeed Amrit and they guys that did the moving were polite, professional and worked hard despite showing up way earlier than the time they were booked for ... nice guys I thought and tipped generously ... except then they charged me for time that they did not work (half hour extra on each end). Definitely my own fault for not looking more closely until it was too late, had signed and they had left.

worst moving Company ! never hire !!! my mother hired them to help move her 1 bedroom 1 bathroom SMALL condo. she hired them for 3 hours and 3 people. she paid over $600 for the deposit which was also supposed to go towards the movers. they showed up 8 HOURS LATE ! and because they were so late, they brought an extra 3 people, which she did not agree to, but they did it anyways because they were so late. then they charged her for an extra $400 plus for the extra people anyways.

Terrible communication. On request multiple times I was told they would be there on the move date but no actual email of confirmation. I was initially hiring this company to load our moving truck. However I also asked for a quote to do the actual move to another province. Multiple calls and texts I was told the quote was sent via email and not to worry they would be there on the move date.

I deeply regret having to leave such a negative review, but I feel it's crucial to share my experience with this moving company to spare others from similar frustration. Firstly, I must acknowledge the hard work put in by the workers, and I'm grateful for their efforts. I even went as far as buying them all pizza for the work they were doing. However, the management's handling of the mistakes that were made was utterly appalling.

What started as a great experience degraded to a disappointment with an obvious lack of customer appreciation. We hired (2nd time) 3 men and the truck for a local move including an office to a home office. They worked hard and fast from 8:45am till 6:30 pm and we were happy enough to provide each mover with a healthy tip.

Movers were on time and courteous but they worked incredibly slow. It took two movers over 3 hours to load up a 2 bed condo. Everything was packed up into boxes already, furniture dissembled and I had moved a bunch of stuff over myself beforehand. They also didn’t bother laying down carpet to keep the floors clean. The movers would take one or two items at a time and it slowed down the whole process. I had to start loading and unloading the items because it was so inefficient.

I would not recommend Pack Rat Movers to anyone. We've been dealing with them since our move in early February, and the experience has been nothing but frustrating. They never return phone calls, no matter how many times you try to reach out. During the move, they accidentally took our two-wheel dolly and despite multiple promises to return it, we still haven’t gotten it back. It’s been months of excuses and no follow-through. Update - They have returned my dolly since posting this.
