PODS Moving & Storage

I set up a pick up date and location. I told them I don't have a house yet but know the city. I was told this was enough information to get it close. When I called to get it delivered I was told my pod was still in the Compton yard. I said if it needs to go to the Riverside yard to get to the city I gave you why is it not at the Riverside yard? The manager told me it was company policy they need a specific address before they can move the pod. This is not what I was told when I first made the order.

I would give negative stars if it were possible. This was absolutely the worst moving experience I have ever had. I would never recommend PODS to anyone and have been warning people to stay as far away as they can since our moving experience. Our POD did not arrive on time. We moved into an empty house and got verification that our belongings would be at our house in 10 minutes. There had been a problem with booking and the pod was going to be delivered to an address that DIDN'T EVEN EXIST.

Initial delivery was fine. Once they picked up our belongings, it was all downhill. We were told on the phone, email, the recording, and on our contract to call 7 to 9 days in advance for redelivery. We called 14 days in advance. Was told our transit time was miscalculated and they would now take 11 days, this pushed our delivery over Thanksgiving, which the drivers have 3 days off. By PODS changing the transit time it meant our containers would be delivered 2 DAYS after our month date.

ZERO STARS!! I'd give them negative stars if I could. Booked service. Got confirmation. Almost a week later they finally call me on moving day, 4 HOURS LATE, to tell me that they aren't going to come out. Despite having checked and double checked when I ordered and a 3rd time when the order was confirmed, now they suddenly realized they won't deliver to our area. THEY LOOKED UP MY ADDRESS ON GOOGLE MAPS WHILE I WAS MAKING THE RESERVATION!!! BUT SUDDENLY ON THE DAY OF DELIVERY, THEY CAN'T MAKE IT!!!

I don't recommend using PODS storage containers. They have too many junk fees. I wish I would have done my homework and research because there are other companies offering the same service at better pricing. I paid for a full month but only used partially and was hit with another fee upon picking up the unit. definately shop around before going to this company!

I had placed an order with PODs , When I received confirmation they only confirmed one pod, I had ordered 2. When I called them back they said I had never completed order. After a lengthy search for my order, the customer service rep redid order. At the end when he was taking my credit card number he stated that they do not travel to my destination. Even after an hour on phone setting it up . I told him they took my credit card info first time and order was taken.

I wish I could write a review only on the driver, The two stars are for SAM, he was AWESOME!!!!!!! He rescued a bit of the bad taste I have from dealing with this company. I was charged a full second month of storage because they "could not pick up the container" on the dates I had picked up. So they finally came to pick up the container 6 days after my original date and now they are refusing to provide a full refund, claiming that it is my fault that they did not pick up the container.

PODS advertise that they are flexible and can help you with complex moves, even if you don't know your final destination. We booked with them for this reason. We sold our house, and they picked up our 2 PODS and put them into storage. Then after we finalized our moving plans, we found out they did not service the area we moving to.
