DO NOT SIGN UP WITH PRO ACTIVE MOVERS!!! They were unprofessional and charged 2.5x more than their initial quote. The initial movers showed up nearly 2 hours late. When they realized that the move was taking longer than they expected, they asked for more help. They told me with the extra help they would still finish around their projected time line and it will cost me about “couple hundred dollars more”. I agreed to this offer. The extra help showed nearly an hour late.

I have to say that the service I received from Proactive Movers was incredibly poor. I would not recommend using them. Do yourself a favour and go for a more well known and reliable company, even if the quote is higher than Proactive. Proactive will low ball you and then the guys will drag it out with the slowest, laziest moving you’ve ever seen by two “professional” movers. We were allotted a 2 hour window by my condo building to use the loading dock and elevator for the move out.
Had the worst experience with the movers, paid for 5 hours they intentionally took 6 hours, were extremely slow, my husband and his friend had to unload almost half of the stuff otherwise they would have taken 10 hours to complete the job. Broke our glasses which were fully secured. Too bad To your response- Several points you mentioned are not accurate and need clarification. First, the issue was not the estimate or the final cost — we fully understood that estimates can change.

The entire experience was a nightmare and felt like a scam. Despite a 4-hour estimate, the movers were incredibly slow and spent most of the time on their phones. I actually had to spend two hours moving my own belongings just to help finish the job. In the end they charged me for much more time than the original quote. To make matters worse, they keep your credit card on file and withdraw the money automatically. They trap you in with the cheapest quote, but you end up paying much more in the end. Do not use them

Was quoted 2 movers, 1 large truck and 4 hours to move us out of our apartment to our house 20mins away. It took them 7hrs, they complained that furniture was heavy, stood around for long periods of time, didn't wrap our antique furniture and we ended up helping them move stuff in and out. Another random but notable detail - They made a huge unnecessary mess in our new bathroom. Do NOT call these guys. There are so many more companies worth calling over this company. If I could give negative stars I would.
