*UPDATE FOR REPLY FROM RAINFOREST MOVING* Not sure how you "lost or not recorded" a voicemail or "don't have any record of me calling. I know this isn't in any shape or form truthful since we played phone tag twice on the first day I called. After two consecutive missed calls from both our ends, that's when I decided to leave the voicemail sharing what I discussed with your movers about all the damage that occurred to my property.

Hi Paul, thank you for the feedback. Rainforest could have easily had all this corrected by calling our company. His call was returned as he stated, but rather than call us back and have his items fixed or replaced, he decided to 1 star review instead.

Very poor unprofessional experience. I received a flat rate quote from Rainforest, we said we would take some time to consider. They called back 2 times to follow up on my potential business and changed to 150 hourly rate, I considered and then agreed and then after they communicated extra fees for fuel, and Ferry cost, I again said I would think about it and let them know at the end of the week. At this point he was very rude and said he didn’t want my business, it was too much of a hassle and hung up the phone.

I spoke with my estimator Alan, and agree that he was right to sever ties with you. He originally quoted you a flat rate in October, which is standard for all island moves. Flat rates include all ferry, fuel, supplies, labour, etc.

DO NOT HIRE THEM THEY HAVE NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE. Today one of their drivers tried to push me off the road with their giant truck while on the highway. The driver of the truck missed their exit so they swerved across 3 lanes to get into the exit when the road has already split off onto the exit. If I did not move out of the way he would have crashed into us and I had to drive onto the shoulder of the road down into the ditch a little bit to not be flattened.

DID NOT USE OUR SERVICES. No proof this actually happened. Defamatory content. Our driver and his passenger do not recall going across three lines, not even when the bee was stinging the driver.

When I booked my moving date with this company , didn’t say about extra charge for the time they leave home or office and go back , plus the lunch time . They sent 3 purple , because they were in my place at 9:30 but I booked from 10:00!!! Then I paid for the time left fir lunch, for an hour , they broke my storage’s leg and some of my stuff I found it was broken in the box, when we called back to the office to talk to the owner for asking why we have to pay for those extra hours he din’t want to solve our…

FALSE CLAIM, RAINFOREST NEVER MOVED THIS PERSON! These claims are completely polar to our hundreds of 5/4 star reviews. Rainforest Moving is always available to resolve issues in a prompt, orderly manner.

Not very impressed with overall experience we had considering we chose Rainforest based on the great reviews on Google. When planning the move on the phone, we understood the 1 hour travel time charge, but we were not made aware of the 3-hour minimum, so the cost was much higher than what we had planned for. While moving there was no floor protection provided, even after I mentioned that we had just redone our floors. I would have at least expected shoe coverings.
Reply from the business

Chelsea, all our rates are up-front and clearly communicated. You did call on moving day claiming not to know about our 1 hour travel time, even knowing this was explained to you, as has been to over 10,000 happy customers, we still took the 1 hour travel off the bill for you.

I wasn't satisfied for their service.. the crew doesn't care to take out their shoes in getting in to the new carpeted house.they don't even took care for the furniture. They broke our 2dining chairs and not even tell us. They came in 10am and by 12noon they take a lunch break that take them an hour and charge me for everything as full.. the promotion of 10% from the flyer is totally "Bogus". Sorry to say.. I am not recommending this company at all.👎

Hi Marilyn. We tried contacting you about this review, however you were reluctant to return our calls. You were charged $100 hr discounted from $120, more than 10%. Our resolution team did not hear anything about broken or damaged furniture.

DO. NOT. HIRE!!!! Absolutely terrible experience. It's a laundry list of what you don't want your movers to do....nothing shrink wrapped so 2 white leather chairs ruined, wore shoes all over the house on a wet day (no mats laid down), took furniture apart and left in parts (half in storage and half not moved at all, not kidding). Could go on and on....just a heads up to steer clear!

The best movers in the lower mainland/Vancouver by a long shot! Fair price, and the team was so professional, friendly, and were extremely careful with all of our items. I especially appreciated that they took the time to carefully wrap things like our t.v., mirrors, dining table etc. They were punctual, highly communicative, charged a fair price and overall were a super professional and efficient team. Without a question, I would use these guys again and recommend them to anyone.

I recently had the task of choosing a moving company for our upcoming move. After having received three estimates I decided to go with James and his team at Rainforest Moving. Originally we had planned a move to storage as we were unable get a place due to the crazy real estate market. With three weeks left in our new home, we managed to get an offer accepted and no longer needed storage. This pushed our moving day and changed the dynamics of our move.

June, it was a pleasure meeting you and your family. Thanks for the 5 stars!

left a last minute message to do a local move detailing the size of the job and our needs, then continued packing and shuffling things. we called rainforest on a VERY STRONG RECOMMENDATION from a close friend who'd recently moved house from kits to the island. but, as we kept puttering along, we figured that they're busy, heard the small job we had with short notice and decided it wasn't worth the hassle. fair enough. i was wrong. at the end of the day, i got a call back asking if someone had replied to us yet.

Thank you for leaving such a detailed and generous review, Melanie! I know we didn't get a chance to work together this time, but we look forward to helping you move in the future.

We moved from a duplex to an apartment yesterday and it was a horror show, but that had everything to do with our building management / chaotic lives and nothing to do with the Rainforest crew! We’ve been lucky enough to have mostly good experiences with movers in general over the years, but Rainforest’s adaptability and commitment to focusing on what’s best for the customer are what brought us back to them for this second move.
Reply from the business

Thank you so much for the thoughtful and generous review! We're sorry to hear the move was a challenging one overall, but we're truly glad our team could help make the experience smoother and less stressful.
