Quoted price with Office Manager, Jasmine became almost double the price with Crew Leader, Antonio. My move was scheduled for 8AM. Antonio and his partner were 2 hours and 40 minutes late. After 2 hours of no response, I get a text message from Antonio stating they had got caught up with another move that was scheduled the same morning. Antonio informed me through text shortly before arriving that there was a truck rental and gas fee which he noticed wasn’t on the original quote.

Please do not use this place for moving services! They are not AT ALL upfront about their pricing and will hit you with a $300 “staging” fee the day of moving. This was not in our contract and when we told Jasmin, the office manager, that she basically made it a he said she said game. They were rude, unprofessional, and liars about their pricing.
We have no record of doing business with you - you are mistaken, we never moved you or even provided a moving quote.
UPDATE: Finally received a response from the owner after 2 years. And if you're wondering, no, I still have not received my deposit back. All of their 5-star reviews are fake, you can look at the other reviews the 5-star reviewers have left and they are all for the same places (a bunch of tree service businesses) or this is the only review the accounts have left. Mind you, purchasing/fabricating reviews is not only wrong, it's illegal. 2021: Whatever you do, DO NOT use Roanoke Moving.

We used Roanoke Moving a year ago because we thought it was going to be a great value and saw mostly positive reviews. It was literally one of the worst experiences ever. I was left almost in tears by the end because of how scammed I felt. The location for the business appears to be someone's home and there is nothing legitimate looking about it at all. There's no signs, no parking, it's just a duplex looking place in a bad area of Roanoke.

After a promising scheduling and set up process with Shireen who was very friendly, the experience went down hill from there. I was set up for a partial pack and move by the company, who did not prioritize the area I had requested to prioritize. The packing that they did was very professional and solid work, just not the right floor of the house. Day 1 consisted of 4 hours of packing and consolidating the first floor.

If I could give negative stars to this company I would! We were scheduled to have them move us today and they no showed! This has put us in a very bad situation as now we have to wait an extra five days before we can move! Not only did we have to call and find new movers(The only reason we got as soon as we did was because they had a cancellation and everywhere else was saying middle of July), But we also had to change the dates of service for our electric, cable, Internet, gas, and others.

My recent experience (04/2020) with Roanoke Moving Company was very unpleasant. They signed with me a contract which they did not honor and the result for me was expensive and extraordinarily stressful. I am a 73 year old widow. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! They lied about the total charges and then they held my items in the truck until I paid them. They charged me $2,000 more than the original quote. They also got some of their workers from Craigslist the day of the move. Poor service and awful people. Cannot believe they are still in business.
We are sorry you feel this way, but we do require payment at the time of service. The moving contract you signed and agreed to explicitly states this term.

My storage container was 2 hours late arriving and Roanoke Movers was able to work around that easily. They were always prompt with communication and the guys were efficient and careful with all our items and furniture. Cannot recommend enough!
