SDC international Shipping

Extremely unprofessional, stressful, and poor experience. I was assured by Timothy from day 1 that I would have door-to-door moving service from Seattle to Rome, Italy, 10-12 weeks ("probably 10"), during which this company would oversee the entire process, quote of $10,000. It is now week 16 in Rome and not only do I not have my delivery, but I don't have even an ESTIMATE date of arrival, and I've spent almost $14,000, and have received ZERO customer service or any kind of reassurance.

At the beginning everything was great, as it usually goes and then right after the moving truck left everything went downhill from there, the carelessness that this company has for one's belongings is enraging as it is saddening; all of our belongings are damaged to a certain extent and the amount of unanswered phone calls far outnumbers the ones that were actually answered.

We moved from Texas to Padova, Italy with this company. Not only did they violate our moving contract by showing up two days late, moving our things into a storage facility (instead of directly into the shipping crate), but an antique rug and a box were stolen. The company did nothing to help us recover the stolen goods and then undervalued both the rug and the contents of the box.

UPDATE: When I left the initial review 7 months ago, it was a 4 star review and I was very pleased. Since that time, I submitted my claim for damaged goods (6 months ago). My claim was accepted and approved (Oct 6, almost 6 months) and I received an email stating that it would take up to 60 days before I received funds. I am still waiting. I would check monthly and for the first 3-4 months, I received a response saying that they were "working on it". Now they have just ghosted me and won't respond at all.

The service I received from SDC has been frustrating, negligent, and possibly borderline illegal. I would strongly recommend anyone looking to use them for their relocation, to reconsider and find another provider. My workplace transferred me to the Netherlands from California for a period of one year. Relocation expenses, however, were only partially reimbursed by the company. I decided to use SDC to ship my furniture and belongings, with an upfront payment of $2500.

We just moved to the Czech Republic. My husband is a dual citizen who escaped the Communists in 1969. We have been together over thirty years in the US. We shipped our household belongings, among which were 35 years worth of my paintings, my life’s work. The company gave us bad advise. Because I paid with my credit card, my name was on the manifest, and we we would not be elegible for duty free shipment. When we found this out from the Czech liason, we complained, and they changed the manifest to my husbands name.

***This is not a spam review i am a real person and a consumer who used this company. They actually robbed me and still have never delivered my belongings it has been 7 months since the stole all my belongings.*** They rob people of their belongings. They stole everything then extorted me over the phone and in emails. They will extort and rob you. And yes I do have receipts, proof and all the emails. DO not use this company. They are fraudulent.

I very rarely write reviews. When I do, it's either because a company went above and beyond, or because a company provided such a disastrous experience that others deserve to know. This was that disastrous experience which others deserve to know about. We hired SDC twice. The first time was to move half of our belongings from Texas to the UK. The communication was very poor, but we chalked it up to post-pandemic problems and decided to give them another chance.
