Sheridan Brothers Moving

​I hired Sheridan Brothers Moving because they provided perfect service during my last move a few years ago. I was looking forward to the same level of quality, but this experience was the complete opposite. ​Despite giving them every opportunity to make things right after the move, management has ghosted me. Many of our belongings are now unaccounted for or were destroyed during our move with Sheridan Brothers Moving in Rochester, NY. Their pricing is higher than others but they had availability with short notice so we decided to go with them. To put it nicely, their movers leave much to be desired. Only a 2 man crew was sent when there was supposed to be 3. We had a FULL 3 bedroom house.

Showed up late and treated me horribly!!! When I called the office to ask a question - a nice person answered but a screaming lady in background was talking about me loudly. When a box of my items broke I was called out to the truck. I got out there and the main guy blurts out “this wasn’t taped properly”. Most items in it were smashed and broken. He was on the phone the whole time and if I had a question or concern he acted like I was bugging him.

I choose this mover because it was the cheapest quote I received to move from Rochester to NYC as they charge a flat rate in mileage and not hourly as other moving companies did. The movers arrived on time to both locations and we nice and pleasant. I was charged the amount I was quoted originally. The reason why I gave them 2 stars is because multiple furniture items were damaged and I did not like the way the movers tried to hide them.

Two weeks ago I used Sheridan Brothers to move (this was my third time using them, the previous two times were good experiences). The three men who showed up complained the entire time moving my belongings and rolled their eyes when I was explaining what needed to go from each room. I told them that this wasn't a happy move for me, as I was getting divorced, hoping that this would change their tune. It didn't. They also showed up reeking of weed.

I’ve used this company a number of times over the years. The last two experiences were so bad that I will never use them again. I used them to move a bunch of stuff 6 months ago and the crew they sent constantly complained about the fact that they were having to move things. Also they very loudly were making fun of my home and belongings. They damaged a scooter I had, then didn’t tell me.

My husband and I had a terrible experience with Sheridan Brothers Moving. We hired them to move our 1 bedroom apartment into a 3 bedroom house (1.5 miles away). We have a lot books and records, which I told the company when I got the estimate (she even wrote "A lot of records" on the estimate). We have very little furniture. Everything was boxed, labeled and stacked in the center of the apartment when the movers arrived. They sent two movers and a very large truck (26 ft. I think?).

Three gentleman showed up for my move. Upon arrival I could smell a very strong scent of marijuana. That smell lingered in EVERY room in my home. The one that appeared to be in charge was VERY negative. "Oh, we can't do that" "The office does not know what they are talking about" "Leave it in the hallway" "We do not have the right tools to remove the door" etc. I had to force the issue of going into the loft in the garage to have them even look at it to see if it was safe. As I knew it was.
