ShoreView Moving and Storage

I worked with this moving company, they work with American Van Lines. I will never work with Florida Van Lines again. They lost half of my shipment and found it three days later in another state. With Florida Moving Systems, there was an utter lack of communication. When it came time to file a claim, the claim individual gave me a form which i filed - turns out this form was ONLY for damaged goods and not delayed shipments. No one ever told me this. I have wasted so much time and energy, yielding no result.

horrible moving company. movers came late and took apart my sofa so it could be moved safely. movers in my new destination didn't know how to put it together, now I have to come out of pocket for a third party service for something they did. This isn't covered under all the money you pay for them to move your stuff so BEWARE. Also communication is mostly all through e-mail so make sure you're looking at that regularly because unless you call no one will get on the phone to tell you what is happening with anything.

Move started off good with pleasant sales rep and shipping coodinator. Unfortunately the ending was a disaster. In addition to several items being damaged, I lost 2 leather coats, several winter vests, trench and business overcoats and every pair of jeans I had. In addition to these thefts which they refused to cover, our most valuable item was a juke box which they said they would pay special attention; however it was damaged in transit and they again would not cover damages due to it being electronic equipment.

Do not, so not use this company. They are so awful. My husband and I interviewed three different companies and we chose them, what a mistake. The day of the move we were informed there wasn’t enough room on the truck for all our stuff. They said they would need to send another truck, which didn’t seem so bad. But they didn’t tell us that the second truck wouldn’t come for two weeks after we the first truck. The second truck had out clothes and they told us clothes weren’t essential.

I REALLY wish I could post a positive review, but I honestly cannot. Moving is stressful, things get damaged and sometimes even lost. Those are all expected and my review has nothing to do with any of that. I believe character really shows when things don’t go as planned, and as far as ShoreView- this is where the wheels fell off. The experience from pricing, loading, delivery was all fine and met expectations, however, they ran out of room on the truck and had to ship about 8 larger items on a separate shipment.

The movers that came to load my belongings from my storage unit did a good job and they were professional. The people that delivered my belongings in Virginia were horrendous to the point to where I will never hire movers again. I will deff sell everything and what I want to take I will rent a truck myself and load it with people that actually care that I know well and will take care of my stuff.

I am sorry to give this company a 2 star. Todd was great to do business with, the packers do a fabulous job nothing broken, and no damage to our furniture. The crew that unloaded our stuff worked hard, they had to carry our belongings from the road, then up the stairs. However, 3 boxes were left that were not ours, my husband called the company immediately, they had us call the driver, which was a dead end call.

Prices sounded good, but somehow, because I need help in the afternoon, not the morning, that's not something that can be done and deserves to be laughed at. They could have at least hung up the phone before laughing at my request.
