In their own words
This company was a complete joke, rude and unprofessional. I had debated on writing a review for a week because I didn’t want to say something out of anger, but I would hate to see another family go through what we encountered. They cursed at my mother which is where I lost all respect. If it wasn’t just a simple pick up and walk out the door box or furniture they couldn’t move it. We only had 2.5 rooms of stuff to move. I would hate to see if they had to move an entire house.
Although the young men who came out worked very hard and were personable, the damage done to my hardwood floors screams that they need training on how to properly move heavy furniture and appliances. There are also scratches on the washer glass door.
Scheduled them for a half a day move (4 hours). The crew got to the house at 9:45 and said that they wouldn't be able to complete the job since they had another job at noon. They also said that they couldn't take boxes that didn't have covers, which is no problem although no one stated that to me over the phone. The moved approximately 10-12 totes, a dresser and a chair and left. I ended up renting a 20 foot Uhaul and loading it myself in 5 hours.
I don’t think it’s a unreasonable request to NOT completely block a road that leads to people’s homes. Clearly the driver of this truck had ZERO idea how to park a moving truck as they parked at least 10 yards away from the sidewalk, …
If I could give zero stars, I would. They were late and didn't call; we had to call them. When they arrived, we had to remind all three movers to wear their face coverings even while outside and around us. We didn't know that we were …
Called and left vmail msg with my name, phone number, the from city, and the to city. I guess they are either out of business or weren't interested in a move from Annapolis to Columbia.

Short Hop Moving has the best service!! The crew (Alex, Adam, Gregg and Parker) always show up on time and treat my home like it's their own. The crew was also professional and friendly. They move fast but carefully so it's best to stay out of their way. My furniture, miscellaneous items and walls have never been damaged. Pricing is good, scheduling is easy and the trucks were clean and modern. I highly recommend Short Hop Moving and will continue to use them.
I can’t recommend this company enough. From the moment they came to do our estimate, they were thorough, kind, knowledgeable, and professional. They sent a crew and 2 trucks to move our 3 bedroom house and completed the entire job in about half the time we expected. The crew was meticulous and careful. They didn’t damage our items or either of the houses they were moving us to/from. They also did some great problem solving to get heavy and large furniture into tight hallway spaces. Communication was GREAT!
Highly recommend this company. From my initial call, they were professional, responded quickly, and made moving on a really hot day more tolerable. Very reasonable pricing (by hour, not by weight). Their crew was friendly, figured out unique ways to get our belongings where they needed to go and holy cow they were fast. Not one thing damaged! So grateful for their help with our move!
We used short hop for a move recently and I wish I could give them 10 stars. The First Gentleman I spoke with on the phone was so kind and helpful. I was really stressed about this move and thought I’d be doing the majority on my own due to budget. I explained what I needed moved and my budget and time constraints. He was so calming and assured me they’d get the job done for me. I was still nervous leading up to moving day. It was the hottest week of the year and I had way more things than I anticipated.
