I've never written a review before but I feel like I need to warn everyone about this company. I booked an early morning move at 8:30AM. I told the representative I need everything out of my apartment that day as I'm giving the keys back to the landlord the following day. The representative said no problem since I'm the first move of the day. The representative assured me that the movers will stay as long as required in order to get the job done.
Used these guys a few times before with excellent results. However this last move was no good. They ran much later than expected and busted my television. Tried to put in a claim and have received no response whatsoever. Been good, not sure what happened, will no longer be recommending them. *UPDATE* Firstly, The response from the owner is kind of odd seeing as I had stated in my review that they already had my claim for over a week at that point.

These guys use dark patterns when they inform you about the cost. I spoke with two different representatives and they told me it would be $120 to pick up and deliver a small IKEA sofa from UBC to Downtown (it’s a 10km distance, or 16 min drive, but I don’t have a car so needed help). After moving they give me a bill and it is $250. When I called to clarify, they insisted they informed me about the travel cost.
I apologize for the confusion and frustration you experienced during your interaction with our company. We strive to be transparent with our pricing and communicate it clearly to our customers. It appears that this was not the case in your situation, and for that, I sincerely apologize.
We had a very poor experience moving a 2 bedroom apartment. Small Moves Vancouver was: - Late - Left furniture behind (table and lamps) - Had no covers or protection for items in the pouring rain It was pouring rain (because it's Vancouver) and they did not cover the mattresses and did not wrap the paintings and artwork, and came over an hour late, missing the elevator time booked at the new place and charging for the extra time.
Horrible horrible movers. Do not use unless you want to witness the slowest moving human beings on earth and have your nice furniture damaged. We were super prepared and organized for the move but the movers showed up with an expected duration to bill us. We have a 2 bedroom but no beds other than a single bed (ikea) and a crib to move. No dressers. No nightstands. The move took much longer than our friends who recommended this company and have more stuff than we do.
We hired this company just over one month in advance of our move. Our moving time was very specific (5pm) due to the circumstances of our possession date/time. We asked if this would be possible and they said, while they could not guarantee the start time (that's fine) that they could do it. When the person on the phone took all my information, I told them that we were moving an entire suite's worth of furniture (queen bed, 2 dressers, 2 desks, dining table, couch, miscellaneous furniture, boxes) into a one…
I wouldn't give them even a star. This was the worst experience ever. The move was scheduled a week prior to a moving date on Saturday at noon. We had a pretty strict move in rules because strata move in time is only till 4pm, this was a pretty small relocation, so 3 hours is enough. Here is where the fun begins. Everything is packed and disassembled including bed and couch, and we are excited and happy just waiting for our movers.

It is my second time using this company, 5 years ago they were on fire they sent 2 guys that were on it. This time i followed their advice and hired 3 guys because i have an extra table and a dresser that were a bit on the heavy side. Seems like they sent us the B team this time, took them 1.5 hrs just to move 55 medium sized boxes ! and then they took care of the furniture, I am ok with a relaxed work environment but the chit chat and complaining was constant.

We had a recommendation to use Small Moves Vancouver, and we were so happy we used them for our recent move! They were on time (early actually!), were set up and moving our contents out of our previous address very quickly. Despite some complications (none of them the company's fault - property manager wasn't on time to lock elevator etc) the team was awesome at getting everything loaded. At our new address they again were excellent at getting everything unloaded and delivered. No drama, nothing phased the team.
I first used Smallmoves to move my apartment contents into a storage facility and the team were efficient and careful with my possessions, executing the move quickly and at a very reasonable price. A few months later, Smallmoves undertook a major move for me - moving the contents of two downtown homes into one Upper floor Townhouse in the suburbs. We had over 300 boxes and loads of big furniture and Azzam and his team of 3 others were brilliant!

I had an overall excellent experience with Small Moves. I moved my office across town - customer service asked me thorough questions to guage the volume and I rented frogboxes to simplify the move (which was easy because Small Moves gave me a discount code!). The two person team (Said and Nick) arrived on time, were clear with their communication, were courteous and chatty, handled all of my furniture with care and precision and drove safely to my new location.
