This company has to be one of the worst out there. The day of our move, the guy who was in charge of the move came in and was incredibly rude right off the bat. He was shocked that we had furniture AND boxes to move. He kept asking, "Am I moving this?" We explained that we hired him to move us, so we needed all the furniture and boxes moved. He acted very put out and said that the amount of items we had was not on the moving estimate he had. Basically said we should have told them that we had furniture AND boxes.

Disgusted!!!!!I would give no stars if I could. This company called me the night before my move to push back my time to 11:00 AM versus 9:00 AM as they had an additional move that they had to finish up prior to getting to me. Instead of them showing up or calling to let me know that they were running late, they were a NO CALL NO SHOW!!!! It was 1:50 PM by the time I got a phone call - after I told them I found somebody else to do the move in an email.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel strongly that others need to be warned. I hired Smart Move Moving & Storage for a residential move in November 2025. I specifically asked the mover to place my 55” Samsung Frame TV in my personal vehicle so I could transport it safely myself. The mover refused and assured me it would be fine if wrapped and transported in the truck. Relying on that professional assurance, I allowed them to proceed. The TV was damaged during the move. No other items were damaged.

I hired their team to pack my house into a 26 foot Penske truck on September 26. During the packing I expressed my concern about how the packing was being done in the truck and the fact that spaces inside the bookshelves and armoire was were not utilized for maximum efficiency. Many of the boxes that I could see on the truck were at odd angles and it was not packed to the top so that things would not shift and move. Delicate antique pieces were placed around heavier items.

I called Smart Moves for an estimate. Mark came out and did a walk through of the house and quoted me a price. When move day came, the movers said they did not bring a large enough truck and had to leave after one was full and come back with another and for more money of course. They kept my belongings in a storage unit until I was ready for them. Then I received another bill for an additional storage unit. More money once again due to Marks misquote. Finally it was move day into my new house.

This company will do anything to not honor their “damaged” policies. Our tv was broken in the move. The office put time constraints on the men. After traveling from Sarasota to Miami, they only had 2 hours to DUMP our furniture and head back. This was not a pretty sight. I don’t recommend.

I had a really positive experience with Smart Move Moving & Storage across two recent moves in March 2026. The first was from Saltaire Condominium on 3/26/26 to a home in the Old Northeast in St. Petersburg on 3/27/26. The crew—Shamar, James, and Joe—were efficient, fast, friendly and professional throughout the process. It’s easy to see why they’re nicknamed the “dream team.” Everything was handled smoothly, and the move stayed on track without any issues.

I cannot say enough great things about Smart Move Moving and Storage — they made what is typically one of the most stressful life events feel completely seamless! From the very start, their process was incredibly well-organized. The storage totes arrived right on time, giving me everything I needed to pack up my home at a comfortable pace. And unlike other companies that rush you, Smart Move gave me plenty of time to get settled into my new place before they came to pick the totes back up.

These guys moved my parents from Tampa to Ave Maria. It all went better than we could have hoped. Everyone was on time and professional. Packing was quick and Tony and Jacquez (I’m sorry if I botched the spelling!) were super fast on the end despite it feeling like 105 outside. Price was right and I’d easily recommend them if you need movers. Thanks to everyone involved.
