AFTER you sign a lease, you are then told that there's an extra large fee added to your monthly bill in addition to the rent. I've rented storage units before and insurance is usually $7-10, which is fine. But StorageMart tried to charge me $30 extra on top of the rent for half a month of their so-called "value coverage", which is a ridiculously high extra fee. Im assuming that a full month would be an extra $60.

I stopped in the office to pay my rent in person because I was a few days late. They charged me a fee of 20.00 for being late, even though I went out of my way to make the payment in person. I asked for the late fee to be waived but was told that couldn't be done which is complete nonsense. The fee could have been easily waved. If it wasn't so much work, I would move out. Can't stand lousy customer service.

Nice storage facility but upon renting was advised can buy own lock to avoid $18 charge. Did exactly that. Upon arriving to get my spot was told HAD TO USE THEIR LOCK..RETURN MINE FROM MENARDS..THEY DONT USE THEM. However, when done renting return their lock and will get 18 back. Was incorrect info. When done renting was told keep lock ..its yours. You dont get 18 back. Why would I want some crazy lock I'll never use? Called customer service and was referred to Manager at Eagan location.

If you question your sanity while renting here. Just know there is competitors in the area dont cause this much issues. Public storage across the street is questionable. They have lots of shady nonsense going on. The public storage down the road thats on dodd and hwy 3 its super big and lots of security. The public storage off hwy 13 has a drive thru as well that doesnt sit below the building. Dislikes - Manager parks in the bay (Against policy) - insurance fee is $30.

We’ve stored here for almost a year. Price online says $12/month for a 5x5 but they raised my girlfriend who has paid on time consistently to $25/month for a 5 x 5 after taking over this location. The facilities “manager” Jennifer is extremely rude and unwilling to speak to us professionally. Getting our stuff and moving out of here absolutely outrageous. This place is a SCAM!

Fix your loading door. Over 24 hours with a non-functioning door. Love that it happened over the two days I actually need to move. Like yeah, staff is nice, place is clean. It’s a total joke that you can’t pull in a truck or trailer to load or unload, especially when the weather is as bad as it has been.
