I wish I had read this review before I had hired Texas State Movers. The movers put deep scratches into my two most expensive pieces of furniture, scratched my brand new hardwood floors, put a dent in my wall, and they were two hours late delivering my furniture because they decided to get lunch without letting anyone know. Those were my complaints before they broke a water pipe in my wall, causing $35,000 of damage throughout my home. The day after the move I met the owner, George.
I've waited a few months to post about the horrible experience we had using Texas State Movers for the move from our Wentwood home because I have been so emotional about the experience. After posting this on all Google Groups in my neighborhood, I have received dozens of comments about experiences with Texas State Movers even worse than mine. We were given very little time to get out of our home after it sold, so our regular mover was booked.
I appreciated that they did a small move on short notice. That was great. I was less than impressed with the people that actually showed up though. They hardly said two words and took off with all my stuff before me. I had to go find them and they were on the wrong side of the apartment complex. Then I heard one of them gripe about me living upstairs. It's one flight, and that's your job. Maybe they were mad that they couldn't go to the fair and eat fried rugby balls.
Rude, rude, rude. I was told "go live your fantasy and I will hang up right now". Unprofessional customer service. If i could rate 0, I would.

Blake, Dalton and crew were great to work with for our move. Blake was my point of communication, and he was always responsive, transparent and easily accessible. They showed up when they said they would, worked like crazy to get everything on the truck quickly and safely (we had quite a few antiques), and moved us to a house that was 2.5 hours away. We had decided to do the packing ourselves, but they did the prep work by protecting the furniture and got everything onto the moving van.
We had an amazing experience with Dalton and his crew. They came and packed up our entire house the day prior to the move in about five hours, moved us the next day and also unpacked several rooms for us the same day. Outstanding service and we cannot recommend them enough. Went above and beyond any moving service we’ve ever used. Great pricing and communication.
If you’re looking for a moving company this is the one. I have moved 4 times in the past 8 years. 3 in the state of Texas and 1 (most recent) from Texas to Alabama. Words couldn’t describe the OUTSTANDING job these guys have done. They make sure you are taken care of on one of the most stressful days. The customer service exceeds expectation. Everything was wrapped MULTIPLE TIMES. Nothing was delivered broken nor damaged.
I just finished a move with George (Owner) and Allen and it was a great experience. I have moved many times and normally I am pushing the pace of the movers because I am paying them by the hour. I offered them to have lunch before the move, because often times workers who are hungry are drained of energy and slow. They declined lunch and were working when I pulled up 3 minutes behind them. They worked non stop, carrying items where I needed them, including up 2 flights of stairs.
