The rating breakdown
10 of the 40 ratings in Google’s published star breakdown for The Armstrong Company are one or two star.
Worked out from 40 ratings. That is enough to publish but few enough that one more review moves it noticeably, so read it as a hint rather than a measurement.

Had a bad experience with these movers. They were about three hours late to showing up and regularly took hour long breaks. We found out after the fact that they had put down all our new furniture as being "dented, cracked, chipped, heavily used" for any high value item, which would have made it very tough if we had ended up having a dispute with the moving company if our items had been damaged.
Victor, we are sorry to hear that your experience with Armstrong was anything less than exceptional. Please contact the office at [phone removed].
We relocated with Armstrong 2 1/2 years ago. The movers dropped some of our furniture down our stairs and cause damage to the stairwell, walls and ceiling. They also drug the furniture across our hardwood floors causing dense throughout. We submitted the claim as we were instructed. Over the course of 2 1/2 years they’ve had people come out and look. We got quotes. They even agreed to pay for the damages after we received estimates. I have it in writing. In October they said the check was on the way.
Jennifer, we are sincerely sorry for your move experience and the delay in your claims settlement disbursement. We have had turnover in leadership and remain financially stable. Know that we hold ourselves to a much higher service delivery standard and hope to earn your trust in our team in the…
The packing and getting everything into the truck was an easy simple process and the workers were great. But they were suppose to have our truck in Colorado and put into storage by July 8, 2020 and we get a phone call from our military coordinator on July 10th that there was an issue with the truck and it was still in Baton Rouge. Next delivery date we got for our belongings was July 14th and we get another phone call from our coordinator that there was another issue with the driver/truck.
Christina, we’re very sorry for the delay. We know this can be frustrating, and we’re aware that your UniGroup coordination team has updated you on the location of your shipment and delivery throughout the course of this last week.
A disaster! I have never filed a claim form in 40 years of moving within the US (5 times)and 2 times moving to and from Europe. My recent move in May/June 2021 by Armstrong Relocation from New Orleans, LA to Pittsburgh, PA has left me with 2 pieces of antique furniture lost ( never recovered) both of which I had owned for over 20 years, 2 Windsor chairs broken, 1marble top to antique secretary broken into 3 pieces, pieces broken off 1 antique gold-leaf mirror, a piece broken off a carved wooden wall hanging, and a…
Linda, we are sorry to hear that your experience with Armstrong was anything less than exceptional. If you'd like to continue discussing your move with our New Orleans location please contact them at [phone removed].
Warning! Do not use this company for your move! I can't begin to tell you how much of a nightmare experience we had trying to move from New Orleans to Houston. While they did a great job packing up our home, the delivery experience was awful and time consuming. They first postponed the promised delivery date by five days because the driver had a personal problem. When they arrived five days later they ignored the instructions on how and when to deliver to our building.
If for some reason, you MUST use this company, please do yourself a favor and buy the premium insurance package they peddle because YOU WILL NEED IT! 4 months since our move with Armstrong Relocation in Baton Rouge and we are STILL working out the settlement with United Corporate for the damage done to our personal property. This company does not care about you or your property; they will tell you anything you want to hear to get your contract signed and your money in their hands.
Deborah, we’re sorry about your move experience. We are in contact with the van line regarding your claim resolution. Please reach out directly to me for further discussion and updates. [phone removed] - Michelle Mercer, General Manager
I had a very disappointing experience with Mayflower Armstrong (Baton Rouge) and their New Orleans partner Crescent City Moving. I paid about $10,000 for a full-service move and expected the professional standards associated with the Mayflower Armstrong name. Unfortunately, many of the basic standards were not followed. There was no digital inventory and no parts box, and the inventory was handwritten on old United forms that were largely unreadable.
Jill, I am so sorry to hear about your experience. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I will be reaching out to you today to further discuss your move. - Tom Pera, President
The packers left a lot of stuff not packed so our loaders had to pack it. Then the truck came a day late and to full to fit everything. Now it's 5:30pm and we're still waiting for a second truck. The only good thing was their workers were respectful and efficient. *edit they showed up at 10pm and we're able to load everything under 1hr. Seems they had a lack of communication with the driver and should not of hired him because he never had enough room on the truck.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

The move from Madisonville, Louisiana to Tucson, Arizona went like clockwork because of the great communications. These guys are the best. Would highly recommend all aspects of Armstrong...sales, logistics, packing, moving and customer service. Don't bother looking anywhere else when looking for a moving professional.
Hi, John! Thanks for your praise and kind comments about our team.
They moved me to Salt Lake City from Baton Rouge and were helpful from beginning to end. The got my stuff moved very quickly. Some of my things broke along the way to Utah, and Armstrong was quick to reimburse me and made it easy. Would use again.
I brought a shipment down from Alberta Canada (residential move plus a car) in a 53’ regular dry van. The ENTIRE staff (office and moving crew) were beyond a pleasure to deal with. Not one negative thing could be said about this place! Absolute pleasure! Never In my 23 years of driving truck have I ever felt so welcome and respected ! Thank you all!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our company. Our goal is to exceed our customers’ expectations on every move, so we are glad to hear you were happy with our services. We appreciate all the kind words!
Best move experience yet in over 20 moves! Shannon was so very helpful and really took ownership of the move. He and the packers and movers were 100% a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend them!
