Town to Town Movers

Absolutely Would Not Recommend – Dishonest and Unprofessional I chose Town to Town Movers because they were based out of Worcester and I wanted to support a local business. Big mistake. I initially spoke with Rachel, who seemed organized and knowledgeable. I filled out their form and, to be thorough, took photos of everything-inside and out-that needed to be moved. I even followed up to make sure they had all the info they needed and confirmed it with her again.

Stay as far away as possible. Took 9 HOURS for essentially a 2 bedroom move, which should have taken 5 hours maximum for 3 guys. When I approached them about this and the outrageous $2200 charge, I was told I would receive a call from the owner next day. Never got a call, instead was sent this "leave us a review" email. So, to summarize: our apartment was organized, boxed, and all unboxed items were listed prior to receiving a quote of $1400 (we fully expected to be charged much less).

Scheduled and gave a $200 deposit to Town to Town Movers to help us load our moving truck for an out of state move. We were given an estimated time of arrival of 10am to 2pm. The day prior they called to confirm. At 130 my husband called to make sure we were still on the schedule as they still had not called us with an arrival time as promised and the woman he spoke with at the office confirmed they were still coming just running behind. AFTER 2 pm we got a call from the owner who was calling to cancel.

0 stars if possible. Abysmal customer services. We agreed to a date with this company a week ahead of time. Only after agreeing to the quote that they brought to us, we were told we would be charged a $200 "premium weekend fee". Then less than 48 hours before they were supposed to move us, they called telling us they could not do the agreed upon day. There was no attempt to do anything to accommodate their cancellation. Communication and organization are a 0/5.

Worst moving company ever. A year ago due to circumstances my house I was living in was bought and I was evicted this was the company that removed my things. They totally destroyed an antique sewing machine and never noted it on the paperwork. Also my daughter new mattress was stained across one side. Also they used tape on wood so my $1200 electric fireplace is all sticky they told me to use soap and water which dosen't work and they lost the hardware to my one of a kind oriental hutch came to fix it and put the…

Writing this review so other customers can be careful. These guys are liars and cheat. I had to pay almost $1100 (including tip) to unload a few boxes from a 20 ft Uhaul truck in a 4 story elevator building. When I first called I asked specifically that I want the movers to put together the queen bed. I spoke with Lauri who said that she will get it done and "it’s not a big deal at all". On the day of the move, Guys who moved the stuff were nice.

My beef is this. When you don't want to take a job, just say so. Don't highball the offer and then not call back when you say you will. Incidentally, the offer I received from movers.com was $476 versus $1,000 from Town-to-Town, for moving a modest amount of stuff from a garage in Holden to a 4th floor studio apartment in Boston, with an elevator. It's a pity because I'd had a good experience with these folks ten years ago.

If you are looking for an eviction moving service, stay away from them. They are total scammers. They will charge you thousands of nonrefundable dollars and leave the job incomplete. I would give 0 star if I could.
