U-Haul Moving & Storage of Terre Haute

They overcharge you. I was told a price for the mileage one day and then the next they decide to change it without me knowing. I filled the tank more than how I received it initially and they charged me for “insufficient gas”. And the guy that checked my vehicle didn’t explain the extra charges when I returned the vehicle. He told me everything was good. But then I’m calling about why my bill was so high and I got a cleaning charge and gas charge. I had the truck for less than 6 hours.

I came in 1 week ahead of time to schedule a U-Haul Truck rental. I showed up the day to pick up my rental truck and no one showed up until 2 hours after there opening time (Note: this was not a hot season of college move ins or outs nor holiday). Finally when someone showed up I waited about 45 min in line to get my truck, when I finally got up to the desk they told me my reservation was for 3 weeks ahead of that day.

I was with a friend who was going to rent storage space here. She was griped at by the employee, and came out in tears. I said we'll go right back in amd cancel. So I went with her, and the employees were being very friendly with the men in the store, but when we got up there they were very hateful. She told them she wanted to cancel and the man rudely said "this doesn't make any sense." His tone was so demeaning.

Would prefer to not wait in line to be attended to with a reservation while a casual 15 minute conversation is held about who still works at the location & who doesn’t due to the person in front of me stating their mother used to work there & they are shopping around for prices would be ideal. Having to come back in just to stand in line again to remind your employee that the dolly I requested & rented was not in the van after standing in line to listen to that tedious conversation was not pleasant.

Twice I have been to this facility during normal business hours to get a propane tank filled and have been unable to do so. First trip in I was told the individual certified had gone home for the day. Not a problem so I returned the next morning during normal business hours and after waiting for someone to acknowledge my presence for at least 5 minutes (I was the only one in at the time), I was told by the gentleman that it would be a few minutes while he took a call.
