U-Relax Moving Co.

We hired U-Relax to move our 3500 square feet house stuff to our new home from York to Mechanicsburg. Contrary to its name we had the worst experience – nothing but “relaxing” during the move. I contacted U-Relax since they advertised as ‘local’ and wanted to give business to locals. The lady I talked to looked at pictures on Zillow of our current home which was on the market and provided the quote.

This company was scheduled to move me from Maryland to Pennsylvania and they showed up an entire day late. They were a no call and no-show and it took several phone calls, approximately six calls, to confirm they were not showing up on my scheduled move day. This was a significant inconvenience since I was moving across state lines. I dispute it the charges on my credit card and after a thorough investigation, which included documentation by both parties, I was successful in winning the dispute.

I would not recommend this moving company. We paid $1,000 to move our small two-bedroom apartment to a new place only 11 minutes away. We provided pizza and drinks for the crew and tipped them. I was a few minutes behind with the keys because I had to work, and we were charged for the time they waited — which we understood and paid. After the move was “completed,” we later discovered they had left our old apartment door open with multiple items still inside.

This was the first and and worst experience with a moving company. They did not impress me due to the fact that they damaged the hallway wall and never even told me.They also ripped the dryer vent tube out of the wall and again never said a thing to me. I had to find the damage myself. Upon leaving the apt. And delivering my property to my new home things weren't much better.

We chose U-Relax Moving based on positive reviews, but our experience was disappointing. Furniture was reassembled incorrectly (wood screws in a metal bed frame), some items were left behind without warning, and there was confusion about pricing. I ended up having to reassemble multiple beds myself after the crew left. Attempts to contact the owner have gone unanswered and I’ve been told by a representative that the company won’t be addressing the issues further.

Unfortunately, our experience was not as positive as that of other reviewers. They were provided a list and photos of the 16 items to move approximately 3/4 of a mile. The estimate was for 3 hours with 2 men but the process dragged on for SIX hours despite our making sure there were no obstacles to work around. The estimator claimed the company was familiar with our new community and had moved others into it. Neither our home nor our furniture was treated kindly.

Did not have a good experience. They sent too few people and too small a truck. The 2 people they sent showed up exhausted from a job the previous day. I packed 1/3 of the house myself and spent 8 hours helping them haul furniture. I had to rent another truck to finish myself. Boxes packed haphazardly, as in, one shoe from a pair of shoes not in a box with its pair.

Estimate was way off and ended up spending significantly more than quoted. Some items were broken and their insurance program takes MONTHS to resolve.
