Worst. Experience. Ever. Totally dishonest! 38% over estimate! and they demanded payment in full with no heads up that there was an overage. -- (my original review is below) What a joke... see their response to my issue? They are absolutely aware of this and many other issues with my move. No less than 12 emails have been exchanged across 3 weeks waiting for a rational response. I don’t even know where to begin with this company. It all started well, and Travis was attentive and responsive. Gave me reasons why a non binding estimate would work-factored most things in and said not to worry, they’d charge 110% but after the move they’d only charge the actual weight. What wasnt clarified was that the estimate was waaay above what I had-even the mover was shocked at how high above they made the estimate and said it was a waste of everyone’s time to overestimate bc he could have used a smaller…
University Moving and Storage Review $1600 Extra Charges First, a shout-out to fellow Procter alums (and current employees.) This was my fourth international move following three with P&G. My wife and I were heading home to retirement in Canada. I thought that University Moving and Storage (part of North American Van Lines) would be a good choice to move us since they do work for P&G. The Relocation Consultant, Blake Bruns, said they could handle a move to Canada in Covid times.
Undoubtedly the worst moving experience ever. Moved from Ohio to Florida. The activity on the Dayton end was great. The Tampa experience was bad beyond belief. The company blamed the absence of good labor in FL. Unconscious bias perhaps? That excuse was mitigated by the fact that the same driver and lead provided oversight on both ends. Not a labor issue. A management issue. Not an ounce of organization. Each box and piece of furniture were moved multiple times. Complete absence of planning.
Still the worst shakedown I have ever dealt with. When they say 'Worst case scenario' in an estimate, BEWARE! We were charged more than 30% over 'worst case scenario', Blake Bruns did our estimate, and I doubt he would have treated me that way he did my wife during the estimate process. Zero accountability. The shakedown game that run is real, and supported by their corporate resources. I tried.

When I started my moving plans from Ohio to Oklahoma, I didn’t even have a new house yet. University moving and storage (north American van lines) came to my home to assess the size of my move. They gave me an estimate within my budget. They worked with me as I got rid of stuff and made adjustments to my inventory. When moving day finally came, they arrived promptly and helped me finish up packing before loading.

The team that showed up was great from the jump. They brought in all the necessary material to get our house packed and on the truck. We did an initial walkthrough to identify which items would or would not be packed. Once started, they took extreme care to make sure any potentially breakable items were wrapped and boxed in way where we wouldn’t worry about anything happening to them. They moved quickly and asked us to review spaces/drawers/closets to ensure nothing was missed.
The team did an excellent job! The initial quote was very easy and straightforward, the communication was there every step of the way (even after the move), and the driver and movers at the start and end destinations were friendly, efficient, and I had no issues. University Moving and Storage was assigned to move my military household locally within OH, and I'm sure glad! Fifteen moves over 30 years and this was my favorite crew! Cassandra, Henry, Jamison, Rashad, Christian, Wayne, Troy, and Dave went the extra mile from start to finish to make sure everything was super-smooth for us.
