Please pay attention to the negative reviews and do not hire Up & Down movers if you care about your furniture. We hired Up & Down Movers in September to move 3.5 miles from an apartment into a house. I corresponded multiple times with the office manager, Heather Lynn via phone and e-mail. It was confirmed (twice) that we would need a mattress cover and I gave an inventory of all the furniture that we needed to move, and that we would need furniture covers and proper wrapping.

Scheduled for a move....no show and no communication back. We were given a number for Heather who stated if we had any questions or concerns to call her in which case we did. She never answered my girlfriend’s calls however when we called from a different number she answered...and when we explained the movers had not arrived she said she would follow up...well she never did and stopped answering all calls from us. The company’s website states they are open till 9p however when we called it stated they were close.

The movers themselves were very nice and friendly, unfortunately the way they packed my furniture and boxes resulted in majority of my furniture being broken and boxes being damaged. They knew and were aware that I had 1300 miles to drive in a 26 foot U-Haul truck full of my entire life and when I arrived at my final destination and begin unpacking with the moving company there it was apparent just how many things were broken and damaged due to how they packed the truck.

A little over a month ago I reserved them to load my rental truck for a move that I made out of state. I got a call on the same day saying they would be 5 hours late when my original appointment was for noon. I hired another company and they actually came within the hour and did a great job. I should have called them first since they were more reliable and the move with them went flawless.

I apologize that you feel like my company dropped the ball, but I left your son a message letting him know that we can't be held liable for a complaint of damage 3 days after we moved him. On top of the fact that he had his friends helping him load and unload the truck as well.
