Unprofessional technician, Substandard Service, Erratic and Unstable Owner Behavior JULY 2025: As a career musician, collegiate Professor of Voice/Music Theory and professional Music Director, I have been working with piano tuners for over 40 years. Our experience with Danette and Daniel at Well-Loved Piano Charlotte has more than earned the following warning: -They cancelled the cleaning and tuning hours before the appointment.
With all due respect to Ms. Bagley, her 1928 Wurlitzer baby Grand was completely untunable as of May 2025. It has a bad pinblock in need of repair.
I am not happy with Danettes work at all. She came highly recommended by the seller and I hired her on the spot to take care of my piano after the move. I've waited 3 weeks the adjustment period. Piano was not only out of tune but several …
Here is our side of the story: Regina paid $1000 for a 1977 Kimball baby Grand. We were not consulted about her purchase nor would we have recommended the purchase. A year earlier we cleaned and tuned the piano, but did no regulation.

Rich did a great job tuning my piano and fixing sticky keys. He was professional, excellent communication, explained pricing clearly upfront, and had me check everything after to make sure I approved the work. Booking on the website was super easy. He was also very dog friendly — my fur babies loved him. I even asked him to play a little after since I’m still learning and he played beautifully! Would absolutely book with Rich again.
Rich arrived promptly for the appointment, and was efficient in completing the tuning. He made sure to let me know if he encountered an unexpected problem and whether it would involve an additional expense. Rich always gives me a summary of the work he does and the status of my piano once he's completed his work. I appreciate his kno2ledge and his thoroughness.
It was a pleasure to meet and converse with Rich Goldberg when he came to tune my piano on 23 January. He was very courteous and professional, and I.appreciate very much his honesty with me regarding the condition of my piano. His assessment was that there was too much internal damage caused by mice, when the piano was at my home in the mountains, to allow for the piano to be tuned as it was. Altough I was sorry to learn of the extent of damage, I decided that the cost of extensive repair would not be justifiable.
Rich is proficienct in piano tuning. He demonstrates an understanding of the craft, and you can tell he has years of hands-on experience. Rich add personality and charm to his visit. He always some new information about one of his favorite musical groups - Leonid and friends. I would definitely recommend Rich Goldberg to tune your piano.
