Two hours before my scheduled move, the mover texts me saying he's sick and to see if we could reschedule for another day. I had the elevators booked, took the day off work, and was also moving items out of my storage unit, which I had cancelled the storage rental agreement as of that day, thinking everything would be moved out, so changing the move date was really not an option. They said they'd try to find someone to cover him. Two hours pass with no follow up.

Despite the good reviews, this company as a whole is not great. I just had an extremely poor experience with them, I requested a quote and they sent me a booking form that quoted about 140/hr + hour travel time. I had stated it was an extremely small move (only contents from 1 room) and nowhere in writing or vocally did they ever mention a minimum fee (which is 2.5 hours by the way, plus hour travel time) the move literally took one hour and I paid nearly $500 for it.

We recently had the misfortune of hiring Your Local Movers to handle our move, and it was a nightmare from start to finish. If you’re in Vancouver and considering using this company, think twice. Here’s why: No-Show on Moving Day: The movers simply didn’t show up. We were left high and dry, with no truck, no movers, and no help. So, we hired this company for a move at the end of August. My partner had previously used them before and while that move went well, they were several hours late. For this move, the movers arrived morning of. We showed all the furniture we had. They started loading the truck. As they started loading the furniture, we were informed that there was not room on the truck for all our furniture and that a second trip would have to be made.

worst company i ever dealt with. Owner sent 2 guys 2 hours late. They brought a small truck that couldn't accommodate the move. The owner said "I LIED" about how much stuff i had. When I reminded him that i had a 3 floor 4 bedroom townhouse he said, "did we email"..I said, "no, we talked on the phone. He obviously forgot about my move and hired one guy just that day. The move took 10.5 hours and held up my realtor for getting us the keys. Again, this was apparently my fault.

I wish I could give a 5 star positive review but unfortunately I cannot. To be honest when you book a moving company just under a month in advance you would think the schedule could be held. I received a message less than 24 hours before the scheduled move. Keep in mind, people were moving their things in after Your Local Movers were completed so asking me to just bump the move a couple days was not an option. I suggested UHaul but it was clear the owner didn't really care to help with a solution.

As Vancouver residents, my partner and I hired Your Local Movers for our recent move, expecting professional and reliable service. What we received instead was an insane amount of stress and frustration that we would never wish upon anyone. ​They simply NEVER showed up. ​It's that simple, and it's utterly unacceptable.
