In their own words
Sort by "lowest reviews" to see the common truths - underperform, overpriced. Mine was a 2 day move for $3900 (with me buying all the boxes and tape not included, prelabeled location with colored tape). Furthermore, we only partly moved for a remodel. The hard stuff was just put in my garage from other rooms in my one story house, the other half taken part 15 minutes away.
Hidden fees! Beware of the automatic tip you are required to pay. They will not tell you this up front when you call for a quote. There are also fees for using cash & card! So fees however you pay! The automatic tip that gets added to your bill is 20%. Then you are expected to tip cash on top of that. Very pricey especially if you only need help moving a few items from room to room. The movers didn't damage anything in the process, so that was a plus however the bill was much higher than the quote when I called.
Let me start off by saying this. The guys (Brandon’s crew) that moved my stuff were great. No complaints. They deserve 5 stars. My issue was with the quote that I received and being misled by the estimate. Mr. Mahone told me on phone and it is in email (see photo) that 15% would be deducted from final bill. I received multiple quotes and eventually chose this company because the 15% would’ve have made their quote the best. I was quoted 4.5 hours of labor. Which in turn needed to be 8 hours.
UPDATED 04/05/22: I'm responding to the business response sent today by the owner. If you think can justify this then you're knowingly mispresenting your prices. Based on all that you indicated here, you should advertise the hourly rate as $138 (which includes tax), NOT $129. You advertise as having the lowest hourly rate, which you do but what you don't advertise is that your apply sales tax for your "services" and the equipment you use to move a customer. So be honest about ALL your charges.
Hello Alicia Calhoun, Thank you for allowing us to provide you with our services previously. We want to apologize for not being able to accommodate your moving needs. 1st coast Express operates precisely under the business laws required in the state of Florida.
I am a former military spouse and have moved across the United States and overseas. The move the I had by this company was by far the worst move I have ever experienced! Drug tested and professional, not quite! Upon entering my apartment the odor of marijuana emanating from them was overwhelming and it was clear someone had just smoked. It was apparent the movers were taking their sweet time to run up the clock.
The saga began with me assisting them with their billing/estimate software email not rendering properly within any of my email clients. I worked with Tim Johnson, listed as the Move Coordinator, over the course of several emails to correct the display issue. I was sent an estimate of $3321.00, plus I paid a deposit of $189.00. Over the next couple of days, when trying to call back to ask questions about the upcoming move, Mr. Johnson's number would hang up immediately without even ringing.
Updated Review Unfortunately when we received the items from our move from home so many things were broken and mishandled. It was very discouraging. We were compensated for some items however many items we were not compensated for and other items are simply irreplaceable. Very disappointing, inconvenient and just down right sad to move to a new state across the country waiting for your families possessions to recieve much of it destroyed.
I wish I had more positives but I feel pretty ripped off. I booked my move to leave a 2 bedroom apartment ( on a third floor) into a 1 story house. I booked it to start in the morning (arrival 9-10am). The estimate I was given was 3 hours at a competitive rate. The day to move came and my mom and I had everything packed and ready to go at 9am besides the furniture which needed wrapping. Due to logistical issues and a bit of forgetfulness on their part the move started at 12:30.

In their own words
I had an excellent experience with this moving company. Brandon, Sean, and Pierceson were professional, on time, and handled everything with great care. They worked efficiently, communicated clearly, and made the entire process stress-free. Nothing was damaged, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable movers.
Book these movers TODAY! Straight forward with honest pricing and amazing customer service. Cornelius and James were professional, came with good vibes & on time. They wrapped my sectional and dining room table with such care. Would definitely use 1st Coast Again. Thank you!!
Brandon and Sean arrived early for our move from Fleming Island, FL to Palm Coast, Fl. Tristan and Q arrived to help with the move. We had a 3 bedroom house with a lot of bedroom and living room furniture. The guys were extremely professional and they took extreme care during the entire move. Brandon packed the truck and I have to admit, I am not sure how he was able to get everything inside.
We used First Coast Express for our in state local 3200 sqft home move. First Coast was very responsive overall. We had our move over three days of which the first was packing and loading what turned out to be one truck load on day one. It was very helpful they brought boxes we could buy as well. The next day we had an unload and what turned out to be loading two trucks. About 3pm we had noticed the truck was getting quite full and we had a hard deadline from the owner of the property to vacate that night.
