Stewart Moving & Storage

I tried to put this on Facebook but the company knows how wrong they are and they blocked me so I was unable to provide my honest review. I would strongly recommend NOT using this company for a move. We were first introduced to this company at the Home and Patio Show in Jacksonville,Florida. We knew we were going to possibly be relocating once our new home was ready and gave them our info to contact us and receive $50.00 off a move.

Worse move ever, if I could I would give 0 stars! This is my 3 move in the military, my second one international! The crew suppose to be working 2 days! First day they show up 2 hours late, second day they show up right at the end of the time frame! They sent 2 guys the laziest I ever seen expecially the head worker, he spent like the whole day talking on the phone with random girlfriend and friends, taking continuously breaks! I saw them dropping multiple of my things on the floor hoping I didn’t see but I did!

Wasn’t happy about my shipment being constantly rescheduled to the point where I was missing days from work waiting on it and not even getting a call saying it was rescheduled. But once my shipment got delivered the mover was professional and personable. He worked swiftly and knew exactly what he was doing. He even delivered later then what is considered usual to make up for the fact that I couldn’t miss anymore work.

I had a very concerning experience with two drivers in a Stewart Moving & Storage truck on April 1 around 3:30 PM in Mount Pleasant, SC. They pulled over, honked at me, and shouted degrading comments out the window. It was intimidating and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. This behavior is completely unacceptable, especially while representing a company. The truck’s license plate was 36794P, which should make it easy to identify who was driving at the time.

Arrived at load address from broker on Thursday 7am, told 10hrs load time. At 5am Friday morning they were finally done. Had a 8am appointment for Monday here, arrived at 730. Told to wait for the driver in front of me. This shipper Doesn't honor appointment times. Load paid 4k for 5 full days of work since I did not get unloaded until 5pm Monday. Worst organization ever, disappointing load/unload times, 48hrs of detention. Never again.

The movers showed up on time, but honestly that was really the only thing they did right. First thing that needs to be addressed is the fact that I needed to ask that everything be built back up from the hardware box. It is in the contract that they are supposed to build it all back up. The second thing in regards to assembly of our items is that they put everything together wrong and then had to spend time rebuilding it.

Coming from a military family who has moved multiple times, I can say this is the absolute worst moving experience we have ever encountered. My husband was just medically separated from the Marine Corps after being in for 9 years & suffering through 10 surgeries. This move should have been a piece of cake coming from NC to FL, but starting with the very first day Stewart M&S arrived to our home, we knew it was going to be a terrible experience. First, there was no move out survey completed.

If I could give a negative review I would. It was the most stressful move we've had. Vague description of supposed itemized items and they did not list a lot of stuff in the inventory. The packout was rediculously fast because they did not pack my stuff properly! They did not box items that needed to be boxed, they did not wrap what needed to be wrapped. I was not able to look at them properly load my things cause the guy keep trying to pull me away.
