5 Star Moving & Storage

This place is absolutely horrible. They ruined a lot of my belongings due to water damage and yet refuse to take responsibility. They claim to have delivered all of my household goods then say that the restoration company disposed of unsalvageable items. They however did not notify us of any items that were "disposed of". Meanwhile, I'm wondering where over three thousand pounds of books, movies, clothes and personal belongings went.

Initial appointment setting went smoothly but the day of, the movers showed up late. 3 hours later they were still packing the truck (for a 2 bdrm) I had to leave to go get my kids. They were extremely slow and milked the time which ended up costing me twice as much as I expected. By the time they left my new place it was 9 p.m. and I couldn't even unload anything that night. I have used professional movers three times and this was by far the worst experience. Never will use again or recommend.

I had a bad experience. The owner, Melysa Benedict did not disclose that they don't carry regular insurance in case of damage. Instead, they are "self-insured" and you can buy a policy from them for your move. My move was cross town and about a $3200 job. Their senior guy on the job tried to drag a $2000 bandsaw up a ramp into the truck and fell. He and the saw went sideways several feet onto the driveway. He was fine but the bandsaw damaged beyond repair. Guess what?

I recently completed a pack, move, and store with 5 Star Moving. They were to pack and store my belongings in Colorado Springs and deliver them to my new home across town 1 week later. Surprisingly enough the company estimated the weight of my belongings very accurately, however the $2,500 quote fell nearly $700 short of the final price tag. Be sure to ask for the price of boxes before agreeing to use theirs. Upon delivery I was missing an entire 6ft wooden book shelf.

My experience with this company was horrific. I hired them to pack and store my items for several months. The packers literally emptied drawers into boxes and broke many items due to poor packing. The movers were slow and took over 8 hours to pack the truck on pick up day—the movers who moved me into that house moved me out of my previous condo and completely into the house in 6 hours with a 30 min drive across the city. One of the movers spent 30 min in my bathroom.

I was excited to have 5 Star move me from my townhouse in Colorado Springs to my new home in Divide because they had moved me 4 years earlier. I was only charged about $700 to move from an apartment to my townhouse, and my bill was what I was quoted. Since then, I had acquired a little more furniture and I was moving to Divide so I thought the quote of $1100 sounded fair. The guys showed up at 9 am and did not finish until almost 10 pm that night.

I wish there was a lower rating than Poor-Fair. They are awful!!!! They moved my household goods 3 weeks ago. not only did they damage my sofa, the scratched my walls and my banister all of which I will have to pay out of pocket for. I then emailed the sales manager Melysa, who was so rude and disrespectful and not in the slightest bit helpful. This is part of her email to me when I complained about the $500 and her pair of cowboy movers: No disrespect intended, but research or no, accidents happen.

We used 5 star moving and storage when we moved twice in 6 months in 2020. We had one guy quit in the middle of moving our stuff out of our old house because our furniture was "too much" even though we sold all our big furniture before the move so there were no big cabinets or couches or beds to move. The only big furniture we had was a desk and a mattress but they did a good job moving us out, so I wasn't upset about it.
