ABC Movers Philadelphia Inc

My experience with ABC Movers Philadelphia was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. What should have been a simple 3–3.5 hour move for a small 1-bedroom apartment turned into an exhausting 8-hour ordeal (9:25 AM–5:30 PM). I’ve moved this same volume of belongings multiple times before, and it has NEVER taken this long. The movers arrived with the wrong size truck and packed it so poorly that we were forced to make TWO trips to the storage unit, despite there being obvious unused space left in the truck.

Four movers were excellent and professional. They were very well prepared. The move was conducted very swiftly into storage. I have no complaints. They did an excellent job. Edit: I used them again in a matter of weeks. It was a different crew. They were not as professional as the previous group. This time the move was from storage to my new house. The move was done in a decent amount of time. However a number of items were damaged. One bookshelf I had to throw out because it was so badly damaged.

We went with ABC movers based upon their phenomenal reviews and unfortunately had a very mixed experience. The good: they were priced competitively, our team arrived on time, they called with the 15 minute warning to their arrival, and they got to work almost immediately. The bad: they had emphasized that we needed to block off parking for them at our new location multiple times and we put in a lot of effort to do so and then they didn’t even use the parking and decided to double park on the street, before they…

Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience with this company. I had set the start time between 9-10 am and finish time at 3 pm. Since I was moving between apartment building that required elevator reservations I set the time accordingly. Since I was only moving down the block to a studio apartment and was guaranteed 2 movers in my contract ,surly I thought between 2 people the job could be done in the allotted time.

I’m not sure how to review this company as the move itself was completed appropriately and as expected, but only after a VERY very unprofessional start. For context, I was moving from a 1 bedroom apartment (2nd floor, no elevator) to a 1 bedroom apartment (4th floor with elevator). Prior to signing a contract, I communicated thoroughly with the company regarding the number of boxes and all furniture items to be included in the move.

Unprofessional. My roommate used ABC Movers to move out of our apartment and when they came, I was working from home in the kitchen. Before they even began their service, one of the movers insisted that I (someone NOT receiving the service) write a review. When I told him politely that I couldn't do it now because I was busy working on a project, he insisted that it would only take just a few minutes and stood over my shoulder the entire time... He would not walk away until I sent in my review.

Showed up with a not big enough truck and not enough movers and told me it was my fault for not telling them everything I had. I had had three conversations on the phone with the sales rep detailing everything in my apartment, confirming it, and even calling to update them that it might even be more than originally estimated 3 hours before they arrived. Did nothing to rectify the situation and now I’m sitting in my apartment with everything packed up and no one to move it.
