Broad Street Movers

We recently used BSM to help load our moving boxes and larger furniture. The planning and communication part leading up to move was very smooth as well as the survey to provide estimate. However, when we got to our final destination several of the pieces that I specifically asked to handle w/ extreme care ended up being damaged beyond repair. We provided the moving blankets as requested, tipped the movers very well $40 each for only 2 hours of work, and even let them take our grill as a thank you.

Don’t, as in DO NOT use this company! I was seduced by the reviews of professionalism and great service too. It’s not at all what encountered, discovering most of my furniture scratched scuffed damaged in transit and the only piece that I paid full price for was DESTROYED, as in rendered unusable. The employee who witnessed its destruction, assured me I would be reimbursed by the company.- which definitely didn’t happen At the heart of this experience, is that this company treated me and my property without care…

Probably the worst mover service ever. They told me they would come between 12 pm - 3 pm, and then proceeded the tell me ETA was 1 pm. I cancelled my work call at 1 pm, then got a text saying they were going to their first job of the day, and would need 4-5 more hours to get to me. They planned on coming 5-6 pm in the evening, and didn't even apologize. When I wanted to cancel, the owner Josh laughed multiple times to my face and said he would be more than willing to cancel.

Overpriced and subpar service. We paid $1400 for Broad Street Movers and they did a poor job. While the crew was friendly they seemed mostly inexperienced except for 1 who seemed to be the crew leader. Unfortunately, the team members who did the majority of the heavy lifting were the least experienced in my opinion. I let the company know that we had a treadmill that needed to be moved.

I booked Broad St Movers based on recommendations from others and my experience with booking was superb — Michael was always great about communicating and answering questions! On moving day, three guys showed up, one of whom smelled like a bar. They handled absolutely nothing with care. The tipped boxes labeled “fragile” on their sides or upside down when putting them in the truck, resulting in broken glasses and spilled contents of things inside the boxes. They also moved super slowly.

I attempted to book these movers well over a month before my move out date. I had received the estimate in my email, but the link provided didn’t work. I called them a few days later to state I wanted to book with them. The owner told me everything was good from my end. I tried calling to follow up since I never recieved anything to pay them or place a deposit. Now I’m told there is not record of our conversation.

These movers cost me Over $1600 in Damage that they have yet to pay for. My preferences were booked due to college season. Took a gamble on this one. Definitely a mistake. Movers destroyed personal items, extremely slow, unprofessional, no accountability. When complaining, the owner did nothing, smirked and said "go ahead" when I said I would leave this negative review to voice my dissatisfaction. Go with Old City movers or anyone else, if you don't want a scam.

The movers were nice and kept to schedule but they damaged two valuable pieces of furniture on a very short move (6 blocks). They did not call out the damage and I found it after they left. Be warned that unless you pay extra for insurance, they offer $0.60 per pound as compensation for damages which is laughable compared to the cost of refinishing these two pieces. Will definitely not use their services again.
