Academy Movers

This has been a nightmare situation, are they quick …. Yes but they have no regards for your belongings I had hired them to move November 26 Once they placed the stuff in my new place the movers left and I really wish I would had done a proper walk through but I was busy cleaning blood off my mattress, has one of the movers cut their finger and got blood all over my mattress.

I’ve never had such a stressful and unprofessional experience with a moving company. They were 9.5 hours late on moving day, with no proactive communication. I had to keep calling for updates, only to be met with vague excuses and no real answers. It completely threw off my plans and caused an immense amount of stress. When they finally arrived, they worked carelessly and damaged several pieces of furniture. I’ve followed up multiple times, but they’ve completely ghosted me.

The movers were very quick to load, but the truck they brought for the move was not big enough. They realized this early into the move, but did not bother to correct the problem, instead they just jammed everything into the truck. They ran out of blankets so a lot of things didn't get wrapped, consequently quit a few things were damaged, a lamp was broken and a large wall picture was broken. To take up less space, I took apart my coffee table and end tables and wrapped each set of pieces together.

Used academy movers this past week for a very simple move. Was pretty excited and thought I was getting a pretty good deal when I received email contamination from the company. The emails were extremely misleading when I was given a quote. I agreed to what was quoted only to realize that they were very sneaky in the wording of their email. Moving day came, 2 guys for a simple 1 bedroom basement that was already mostly empty before they came. They did show up on time, and the movers were friendly and efficient.

I used these guys 4 years ago and was amazed at how awesome they were. I recommended them to everyone. I used them again a few days ago and they were absolutely terrible! They moved me into my townhouse in 3 hours, and moved me out 4 years later in 8 freaking hours!! They ripped my bed, broke my desk, scratched my floors and the more I unpack the more I discover. Uncountable scratches, chips, nicks and broken items, clearly labeled boxes “fragile” unloaded upside down, antique china from my grandmother destroyed!

They were very fast and cheap but you get what you pay for: many pieces of furniture and walls were damaged, which they said they would replace or repair as necessary but when the time came, they showed up with a dripping mug of the wrong paint to slap over the dings and took a Sharpie to my damaged furniture to cover it up. When i reached out to express my dissatisfaction, they ghosted me. NEVER USE THIS MOVING COMPANY.

If you want fast friendly movers Academy Movers is great. Unfortunately they go too fast and are careless with walls and carpets. Never removed their shoes and damaged a few walls. Really soiled the carpet in one area and was told they would come back with a cleaner. Have not heard back from them. Won't hire again and cannot recommend. They are fast though so move was not too expensive.

I sent an email last Friday inquiring about a moving quote. They responded via email to provide a moving date. I sent a follow up request the following day and have not received anything back. I've tried calling their contact number (website) several times with no answer. I've read good reviews, however, I hesitate to use a business who doesn't respond in a timely manner.
