I moved on December 11 and this was easily one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. The original estimate for moving my 520 sqft studio alcove six minutes away was $540 and 2.5 hours. The move ultimately took 4.5 hours, and I was charged $909 total, including a deposit. I got charged $51.50 at the time of booking, $735.42 before the movers even got to my place, and an additional $122.57 after they left.

Triccia, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry the move on December 11 did not feel as smooth or stress free as you were hoping. We’d like to clarify a few important points regarding the move: Hi Triccia — thank you for sharing your feedback.

Deceptive pricing, poor communication, and an overall nightmare experience. I hired Affinity Moving for a full-service move — packing and moving within Minneapolis. I was quoted $618 for three movers and about two hours of service. Here’s what actually happened: Only two movers showed up, and I ended up doing almost all of the packing myself, effectively acting as the third mover. During the move and delivery, I also had to do nearly all of the loading and unloading with the movers.
Reply from the business

Leah, we take all feedback seriously, but this review does not reflect the full situation. Your original quote of $618 was based on the limited details you provided. When our crew arrived, the actual move included a long carry, many additional items, and a storage unit that were not disclosed.

TERRIBLE!!!! If you have any regard for your hard earned money and expensive perishables I HIGHLY urge you to look elsewhere for services! I booked with this company and had one of the WORST experiences! I was quoted by their staff that with all of my items and the distance of my move everything should be completed in 2 hours. The staff called and texted me multiple times a day for over 2 days to get me to book with them. I finally agreed once I was happy with the estimate.
Reply from the business

Response from the owner (Affinity Moving LLC) Hi Mimi, we’re very sorry to hear that you feel this way. Our team genuinely tried to resolve this situation fairly. We offered a full refund at your request and even agreed to repair the minor scuffs on your dresser, honoring your original estimate.

If you get an estimate. Triple the cost and the time. These guys take so long to load and unload. Additionally they will hold your things hostage until you pay their incremental demanded money… All payments are through Venmo (very professional) and the people who work there couldn’t have been more unprofessional. Will NOT be using these guys again.
Reply from the business

These are not through Venmo, and you also have to pay for the time that we work. You did not want to pay; that is why things didn't go the way that you wanted them to.

We did most of the packing & clearly used colors And numbers to identify which rooms they should go into (as well as the name of the room i.e. kitchen). We didn’t necessarily expect the small packing that was left for them to do to use the same system as us but they wrote “bedroom” on boxes not indicating even which such as child’s bedroom or mom’s bedroom. Things appear to be just piled up in the garage, almost as if thrown or dumped in because strollers were upside down in the heap.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you remain dissatisfied with your moving experience. We would like to clarify a few points for accuracy. From the beginning of the move, our team communicated that the actual volume of items was substantially greater than what was included in the…

I hired them to move a hot tub from one house to another (10 miles away). I called around and got 3 quotes (all around $500-550). I signed my quote, paid the deposit and send them photos of the hot tub. They showed up with the wrong truck and didn't have the right equipment to move it safely. They had to go rent a trailer and come back. The trailer couldn't be picked up until 2, so they had to wait a couple of hours for that.

BEWARE! ON 5/1, AFFINITY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD ANOTHER $2,700 WITHOUT REASON. THE POLICE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. The response from Affinity to my initial comment is laughable. I was unable to leave the original comment & edit by adding the following cause it was too long. NOTE: THERE HAS BEEN NO RESOLUTION AS RESPONSE INDICATED. The emails I send bounce back to me. I have had no one answer my questions.

Thank you for your review, Nancy. There are several statements in your review that require clarification for accuracy. Your move was performed under a signed hourly, non-binding estimate, not a flat-rate agreement. The estimate reflects projected time based on the original scope.

This is the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. Do Not book them unless you want to struggle getting them to do even the bare minimum. There were so many things wrong with their service. They show up to my house with three men that did not know what they were doing. We booked for them to move and assemble everything. They took 7 hours to move everything and didn’t not assemble items they were supposed to. I was told the moving was going to take 3 hours, they took 7 hours and got nothing done.

I recently hired Affinity Moving for a local move, and I couldn’t be more impressed with their service from start to finish. From the moment I reached out for a quote, their customer service was responsive and professional, providing clear details about pricing and scheduling. They offered a transparent estimate and explained everything so there were no surprises on moving day. On moving day, the team Justin, Ty, and Anthony arrived right on time and were incredibly efficient.

Affinity moved a large sectional sofa for me, and then a month later (today as I write this) a 7 room house with a very full and pretty chaotic two car garage that had a lot of things in storage from a previous move. The owner (Derek) worked with us directly and made it a top tier experience; his crew are all absolutely exceptional. Personable, take care with your property, and genuinely want to see you (the customer) have a great experience. I’ve moved 3 times in the last two years, and 7 times in the last ten.

Thank you so much! This was truly my favorite and most memorable move Affinity Moving has ever done. I believe everything happens for a reason, and this move was one of those moments for me. I'm thrilled that you appreciated our problem-solving skills and saw us for who we are.

I had 3 moves with this company within a span of 4 days. 2 of the 3 moves were absolutely 5/5 above and beyond. The first move had a bit of a hiccup but the operations manager George came out and the owner Derrick made it right so I'm happy with the resolution and follow up customer service. I requested the same crew from the good second move for the 3rd and they delivered again, great jobs Elijah, Michael, Darius, and Spencer! Amazing hustle and efficiency, and nothing damaged for a BIGGER move.
