Affordable Movers

My experience with Affordable Movers was so bad, I can only assume the positive reviews are from friends and family. 1 – Double booked and showed up 8 hours late 2 – Damaged items, including an approximately 12-inch scratch in the surface of my brand-new dining room table 3 – Took a month to respond to a claim, with very unsatisfactory results I called on October 29th to schedule movers for November 15th and spoke to Shannon.

I called, a girl answered the phone and said I am new but I will try and do a good job. Right there I should have hung up. I’m like okay I ordered a 26ft truck and 3 men because I knew from a year ago and using movers that’s exactly what I needed. They show up at the correct time but with a small truck, mind you I ordered a 26ft truck when making the appointment. Also, I should have known that they didn’t take a deposit when I made the appointment that is a red flag two.

Scheduled with this company and gave all info about all items being moved. Mover showed up with two people but no tools to make a move safely. Rescheduled for the next day. They added two more movers and doubled the price. With that being said, I stayed home again from work on Labor Day Weekend. The scheduled time came and went with no calls or explanations. This also set us back on our weekend plans for leaving the state.

We scheduled with Affordable Movers to move some big furniture pieces into our new home. It was great at first because they found us movers to move our furniture the same day. They were scheduled for 3:30 but called and said they were going to be about an hour to an hour and a half late. We didn’t see any issue with this. When 5:30pm came around they still did not show up so, I tried to text and call the movers and they did not answer so, I called the main number.

Movers were supposed to show up at noon to help us move into our new place. The movers never showed up and when we called their support line, a woman named Shannon picked up and was horrible. Did not help us at all and insulted us instead of helping us in our situation. Do not use this company to move unless you want unreliable service and horrible customer service. Worst moving experience of my life. Addition to my review after I was told to take down my post over the threat of losing my belongings.

First, Justin and Travis, the actual movers were a 5-star. I can't say enough good things about them. The company itself and the customer service was horrible. Shannon was rude and condescending on the phone. They overbooked. I made several calls for updates. After 5 hours, I called again. Shannon told me they weren't coming. They never notified me. Eventually, Justin and Travis called said they could still come. It was a relief. So thankful for them. They came and packed everything up.

Didn't bring big enough trucks and had to make 2 trips with 2 trucks as well as taking their time even getting to us and moving our stuff in general, causing me to have to pay 2x as much as I was told.... they are NOT affordable. And they take their time. As well as the fact that they complained about moving some of our heavy stuff. My sons (12 and 14 years old ) helped them and showed them up on lifting, with that being said I should have just moved the stuff myself and paid my boys fir their hard work.

Not sure how this company stays in business. We reserved moving services, were given a time of arrival (4-6), and waited... I texted the number given to me in the confirmation - no response. When I called at 7:01, a gentleman told me that our movers were still on another move and that he would call them to find out how much longer they would be. He NEVER called back and my call to them went straight to a voicemail that was "full ".
