Leaders Moving & Storage Co.

Two weekend ago Leaders helped me move a couple of large items including a washer/dryer. We used it two days prior to the move, then drained and disconnected it. After the move, the washer did not start at all. The movers did not use a dolly to move the appliances. While the method may not be a concern, something definitely happened during the move process. Fortunately for us, the washer is still under warranty, because leaders ghosted me after I let them know of the issue.

Honestly, even 1 star is generous for the service we received. We are first-time homeowners and recently hired Leaders to move the high-end furniture we have been collecting over the years into our first home. We chose this company because of the seemingly good reviews. The movers showed up with no tools, no door jambs, no dolly, and no furniture wrap. Not a single thing came out of this move undamaged. Arhaus white sofa had black stains and rips in the fabric.

Though the mistakes were clearly mistake by the company. I got hung up on twice when speaking with Chris (Operations MANAGER, mind you.), the person that we called 7 days earlier to update the address. It took him 20 minutes to even admit that he made a mistake at all and only offered a $50 credit for this massive inconvenience. (Cost of service around $1,400. Really!?! $50!?) Leaders offers NO empathy for the customer experience. You are a number, not a human to this company.

Edit: of course no one contacted us even though they said they will in the reply here. We used leaders twice before and were very happy. This time we were absolutely not. The best thing I can say is that most things made it to the new house without anything majorly broken. It started with them not calling us to say they are gonna be here. We wanted to safely put our cats away when we knew when they were coming exactly.

I hired Leaders once. One mover was so careful with my furniture and boxes. The other mover did not secure my boxes and he was talking to his girlfriend most of the time on his cell while pushing boxes of fragile items with one hand. Some of my most prized possessions were broken. When I called Leaders about the broken items, I was talked to disrespectfully. Leaders had the complete list of what needed to be moved prior to the move.

Unfortunately I used this company to move me 4 years ago from out of state. They arrived late to our house in WV and INSISTED on moving my household furniture and personal belongings in the rain. They certainly could have delayed a day until it stopped raining. I threw away a lot of my belongings. Pictures and other personal items were thrown into boxes haphazardly and then the boxes got wet.

UPDATE: Never heard from Leaders after they responded to this review and that was two weeks ago. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT. Things went relatively smooth until they informed us they couldn't do our entire move in one day like we had planned. They grossly underestimated the move even though our inventory was accurate. We should have received two trucks instead of one. We were moving our home and a storage unit and they couldn't even move our home in one trip with the single truck.

Absolutely terrible and utterly incompetent. Had them move seven items from a condo to an apartment. They took the glass out of my TV stand and lost several of the suction cups that hold it in place. Note that these are small custom suction cups that will be difficult to find and replace. I can't assemble the TV stand without them, so my living room remains in disarray. The mover acted like it was no big deal and suggested I call the number as they 'probably have a few laying around' (obviously they did not).
