In their own words
Affordable is a comical name for a company considering they quoted me almost $1000 to move 2 bedrooms (only bedrooms) worth of empty furniture and a TV stand 15 miles. What a super unprofessional way to decline business to a single mom. They could have just said they didn't service the area. I got the 3 hour job on the books with another mover for $640 instead. Good grief. Save money and your time.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that our quote didn’t meet your expectations. When we spoke over the phone, you mentioned your location was about an hour and a half outside our typical service area, and we explained … More
We had Carlos and two men move us from our home in Berkley to our home in Rochester. One of the items they moved was our brand new mattress. During the move our mattress was damaged. We contacted Carlos immediately and let him know we had a …
First of all, the day after the move you called us to go back so we could take a look at the mattress. When we where there we explained how we moved it and how there was no other way to get it down without bending the mattress.
I asked them to take pictures of everything before and after the delivery. They took pictures and video when they picked up my things but refused to take pictures at the delivery. That was the first red flag, I asked them three times, but the only thing I got was: that you can trust me, they took knew power drills out the box. and placed it in another box, they took my deceased son laptop, and Xbox please be careful dealing with theses guys.
We are truly sorry to hear that you feel this way, especially regarding items that have personal and sentimental value. We understand how upsetting this situation must be. … More
Absolutely terrible. I scheduled my move for 9am, got a call at 8 notifying me they were “a little” being. Ok… Sure, no problem. Fast forward 3 1/2 HOURS LATER they finally arrive but only with a truck that’s way too small. I canceled the entire move and hired another company immediately!
We appreciate the review and understand you had a negative experience. We have no history of doing a move for you or having you scheduled. Recently we have found out that there is a someone impersonating our company by using our name and our publicity to get jobs.
Terrible service! Called in advance and spoke with Maria, told her how far we were moving, how big my family was, explained I never did this before. She called back to confirm date and again the items we were moving. Nobody ever came out in …
Hello, we do not have any employee named Maria. Upon checking your name we also don't have your information on file. You have the wrong company, we would appreciate it if you delete this review and post it to the correct moving company you used please please please I work very hard for good…
Please DO NOT use affordable movers! We had Carlos and two men move us from our home in Berkley to our home in Rochester. One of the items they moved was our brands new mattress. During the move our mattress was damaged. We contacted Carlos …
Our movers did everything possible to make the move go smoothly. The mattress was a king size mattress, there was no other way of us moving it down the curved stairs without bending or folding.
I called 3 separate times to get a quote asking if they needed to come out and see what I have or if I needed to list every single item in my home. The girl who took every call stated that was not necessary and that 3 movers and 4 hrs would …
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback however a lot of what has been said in your review is not correct. We spoke to you twice, the first time was when we scheduled the move and the second time was when we confirmed the move.
DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THEM. I HAD A MOVE SCHEDULED AND THE DAY BEFORE THE OWNER LET ME KNOW I AM NOT SCHEDULED AND HE IS IN NEW YORK. THE OWNER WOULD NOT LET ME SPEAK TO TRY TO RESCHEDULE SOMETHING. He …
This is very misleading. When I spoke with you we had talked about the moving date and I gave all the info needed for a move. I had asked you to confirm and to send your address before I could add you to the schedule.

In their own words
I had a great experience with Affordable Moving Services. Carlos and his team were professional, careful, and very hardworking throughout the entire move. They handled my furniture with care and made the process smooth and stress-free. I was especially thankful after having a bad experience with another moving company with a similar name. Affordable Moving Services showed up on time, communicated well, and treated my belongings with respect. Highly recommend them if you are looking for reliable and honest movers!

I had a recliner lift chair I needed moved from my downstairs to an upper level. I called on a Thursday, Carlos scheduled for Saturday. I immediately received a text confirmation on day and cost. On the move day. I received a text about the arrival time. They texted me when they had arrived and got straight to moving the chair, being very careful not to bump the walls as they moved it. I appreciate the straight forward, transparent and efficient way they worked. Will definitely use them again.
