Full disclosure - my 1 star review is associated with Art’s unprofessionalism not the move itself (it was never scheduled) Art is either the owner and/or scheduling coordinator. Context - I’ve used AK Movers in the past in 2016 and had a good experience with the movers before. I wanted to use them again this year and was speaking with Art to talk about costs and scheduling. After going back and forth, we settled on a date and Art asked me to send a deposit fee which he told me about before.
Terrible customer service. BewareMy items were broken in transit and the only response that I received from the owner is that it's not his problem. The owner, Art Manukyan, pretty much asks his customers to leave a review before he finishes the job, before you have the opportunity to inspect your items and ensure that nothing has been damaged. He offers a ridiculous discount of $20 for leaving a "good review." I would not recommend this company in the future.
The day of our move, only 2 movers were sent instead of 3 and we were told there will be an extra charge if they are unable to fit everything in the truct and we would have to pay on a new invoice since the new crew will be sent to get the …
I used yelp to send request a quote. In the quote I explained everything I own, the contents of a one bedroom apt. That included a bed, a dining room, couch, coffee table and small tv console. Art, the rude owner stated "In your case you need 2 Movers. The rates is $129/hour (2 movers with truck, equipment, tools + free liability insurance). Minimum is 3 hours of job + exp. fee. " Fine. I read ALL these yelp reviews and most ppl stated they were fast and moved them on a total of 4 hrs.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. BUYER BEWARE. This company is another business gone down the drain during the pandemic. To anyone reading this please understand, I am not a homeowner. I hire movers everyday for my staging company. The movers came late. The owner did not care. Our inventory was broken and not wrapped.Art hires movers by pulling up to Home Depot and 7 Eleven l. These are the people that work on your homes.

Horrible experience with AK movers - 3hours $400 and they promised 5% discount if paying as cash but it ends up paying $450 cash . One mover threaten to charge extra $50 per every 15mins. They came 30min late in the morning and refused to wrap any furniture. Thus my mattress was torn and sofa was scratched. They refused to move any non-box item - like lamp or trash can- Are you serious? Never ever use this company again. I can hire much better moving company for better price and better service.

I completely forgot to give this review, but it's super important that I followed up to explain how incredible this team is. I moved from Maryland to Atlanta with about a 3 week notice, and had to find a house, a new car, and get my entire life down to Atlanta. Art and his team were incredible in making the moving process a breeze. He had the best price out of all my quotes. They were there on EASTER SUNDAY at 7 am to pack up my place. They were done by 11 am.
AK Movers provided fantastic service in helping us consolidate two apartments into a row home in Baltimore. They arrived promptly and meticulously wrapped all our belongings, ensuring a safe and careful move. Having moved several times over the past few years, AK Movers far exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of moving services and would gladly hire them again if we ever have to move in the future.
