All My Sons Moving & Storage

Moral to this story with All My Sons moving is get your quotes in writing. Their verbal quotes aren’t worth anything. They do not live by what they quote verbally. I called looking for a quote to move a bedroom set, minus bed frame and mattress, from Salem, Oregon to Clatskanie, Oregon. The man I spoke with was anxious for the sale and stated that Oregon rates is standardized at $166/hr and would likely take 4-5 hours. So, expecting grand total to be $830 or less. I gave $100 deposit.

DO NOT hire All My Sons for your move. I wish I could give them zero stars. We hired All My Sons based on reviews but unfortunately we were not satisfied with the move. They sent 2 moving guys - they came at 8 am to my old place and finished unloading everything at my new place around 6 pm. I have never had a local move take so long - 10 hours! In the end it cost us way much more because of how slow the movers were. It almost felt like they were being slow on purpose. They didn’t need to pack anything.

**edit** When I called back they offered to move me on Monday (I have to be out TODAY) and could only give me $100 off, then left me on hold for over an hour so I booked a U-Haul. I had to hang up and call back to cancel with another rep because they never took me off hold. They probably would have kept my deposit if I didn't call.

I booked 2 different moving dates. One to load the truck & the other to unload the truck. They messed everything up on the bookings. They got 2 guys to come out & load the truck, & my portable ac unit was all scratched up along w/my bdrm dresser, pegs were broken on my ent ctr, everything was jammed into the truck w/no care whatsoever. They quoted me $333 for 2 hrs, not once mentioned how much more if it went over.

The movers did a good enough job but took twice the time I was originally quoted as needing by whoever gave me my estimate. Right now I’m still unpacking and I’ve found some of my boxes marked containing electronics were put at the bottom of stacks of heavy book boxes so now some of my computer cables are crushed, and my computer desk itself gained several scratches and dents. Thankfully everything else seems intact so far but I’m only half way done.

I would give this moving company 0 stars if I could. This was, without a doubt, the most disappointing moving experience we've ever had. I have never left a negative review, but this was by far the worst moving experience I have ever had. Compared to out move last year with them. This was unbelievably disappointing from start to finish. What should have been a straightforward move from a two-bedroom, second-floor apartment to a house took almost 11 hours, and that even included a dinner break.

I chose All My Sons because I had previously seen them do a great job moving a family member. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different. I scheduled a move within the same apartment complex. This was not a cross-town move--it was a transfer between two apartments approximately 200 feet apart with identical floor plans. I was given a 10:00-11:00 AM arrival window. The crew did not arrive until approximately 2:30 PM, more than three hours late.

I really wanted to leave this company a 5-star review because the actual moving crew was exceptional. They were respectful, professional, incredibly hard-working, and honestly one of the best crews I’ve hired. Unfortunately, the billing experience at the end of the move completely changed my impression of the company. I was quoted approximately $362/hour for four movers and two 26’ trucks. I understood this would be an expensive move and was fully prepared for that cost.
