All My Sons Moving & Storage

I have wasted so much time and energy attempting to fight this battle with AMS and the BBB; here are the basic facts: The day before my move, AMS called to say they could not honor our binding contract. AMS followed up with an email containing a new contract with approximately $3000 (3k) additional fees. I called AMS to explain I would sign, only because they were holding my family hostage the day before our move across the country.

We used All my Sons to move my daughter from a one bedroom apartment to a house. Keep note she does not have a lot of furniture. I went with this company because I used them about 7 years ago to move a 4 bedroom home and they did great. Needless to say this company has gone down hill. First they arrived 3 hours before the estimated time. We were not ready for them. We didn’t even get a call that they were running ahead of schedule.

Very strange and bad service! We only moved 2 miles yet we were missing a few items that we needed to place a claim on. I had texted the primary mover with no response several times about the whereabouts of these items. Crickets... Another thing that angered us is that the movers completely forgot to move our large BBQ grill and all the patio furniture.

Make sure there aren't any tiny bugs in your trailer before you call these theives. Called these guys and set up an appointment. 100 deposit. They showed up and Tyrone got right to work. No complaints about him. Then his buddy found one little tiny ant in the back (he claimed it was a flea, but I am an entomologist so I know the difference between an ant and a flea) and then refused to do any labor. Mind you, I was just moving stuff from my U-Haul into an apartment. I didn't ask them to take anything anywhere.

I don’t know who these other people had but this company is not the best. First I asked for 6 movers and 2 trucks. I got 4 movers and 2 trucks. Halfway into the move they started complaining- I mean moving slowed down for about 1.5 hr as they fought on the phone with the front office. It is apparent that they are overworked and VERY short handed. When they worked they were great- except toward the end they left the gas grill and outside table so I now need a U-Haul to go get them.

We used this company several years back and they were great. I'm not sure what happened in the meantime because when we used them a few weeks ago, several things were damaged. We bought the extra insurance beforehand. The actual movers were nice and they felt horrible about the damages however we were also given incorrect info to file the claim from them. The solid wood table they broke costs upwards of $1,000 and the desk around $200. The extra insurance cost was $175.

I would give this company no stars if I could, the only reason they are getting a one star review is because one of the movers that had to leave offered to come on his own time to help us. We had the worst experience with this company. We hired them for moving within town and they showed up early and started moving our things. Two of the three movers that showed complained that the apartment was "unsanitary" and that they couldn't breathe, as they stood outside smoking.

UPDATE: Lowering to one star. I reached out to them like their response said and its been over a week and crickets. They are the worst at responding. Probably only said a generic reply to make theirselves look better. Overall this was a big miss for the first time and not sure if we would use them again. First we were quoted $199 for 3 movers to move a not even 10x15 storage into our garage. Everything was packed only a mattress and 1 other big piece of furniture. Rest was boxes.
