There’s a lot to say about this moving company. We had a terrible time. Short version: 1st attempt didn’t complete the move, 2nd attempt no showed, 3rd attempt didn’t send enough staff. Charged much more than quoted. Resulted in a 2 week delay of putting our home on the market. We were scheduled to move out of our townhome and into a house just 10 min away. We told the scheduler the number of rooms, boxes, furniture, and gym equipment that we had.
We are sorry. Your experience most certainly doesn’t align with the high standard of service we aim to deliver. Without insights like this, All My Sons Moving and Storage cannot improve. To gain deeper understanding of the specific issues you faced, please give us the opportunity to speak with you.
Absolutely do not use this company for anything they offer. My experience with the company was great up until the day before my exciting move day. Nick, the scheduler left me a rude voicemail claiming to call multiple times and threatened to move my scheduled time for a move. I originally made it clean I needed to be out by 11 am on the first of May and was told this would be no problem with 3 movers. Little did I know that’s where it all went wrong.

They tried to cancel day of the move on an 80 year old (my mom) but luckily I missed the call in the early morning and by the time I got ahold of them (took me 20 minutes to get ahold of them) they told me someone would be there in half an hour despite having us scheduled later in the day. We had to pay everything before they unpacked us ($1400) and finished a half hour early and told us to call them to get our $70 credit back.

This was not the best experience. I reserved a move with this company, was informed by the moving consultant that my move would be budget friendly and completed in a timely manner. Put down $100 deposit, which was to be refunded if cancelled. Upon further conversations, found out there would be extra surcharges and billing for extra time/truck, etc. that would basically double my bill. The move coordinator was rude, spoke over me and I had to ask twice to have my move cancelled, and refund my deposit.

I can't say I will ever be a returning customer of this moving company. We were communicated with several times from the booking process to checking in that we would be the first move of the day and our crew would show up at 8 am. I got a call the day of our moving that their truck wasn't working due to diesel freezing? (which I was understanding of) and that they would be at our place to pack up around 11 am. The company didn't communicate with us anything unless we reached out to them on status.

This review does not reflect All My Sons Moving & Storage’s services, but rather the conduct of their employees within the Des Moines community. Around 8:30 AM today, I witnessed an unsettling incident involving one of their trucks at the stoplight between Keo Way and the I-235 on-ramp. The drivers honked their horn—an extremely loud, industrial truck horn—at a homeless Black man, as he was crossing the street, seemingly for no reason other than to startle him. They then laughed about it.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention Danielle. We are deeply concerned by what you witnessed, and we want to be clear: this behavior does not reflect the values of All My Sons Moving and Storage.
To start if I could give this place a 0 star review I would. Also this review will not do justice how much this screwed my wife and I over. Also costing us money which you know they will not help with. We scheduled our move with All My Sons well in advance, expecting a smooth, reliable process. However, they completely dropped the ball by bumping us from our confirmed move day without any attempt to fix the situation.

This company inflated the charges agreed upon, and inflated the overtime price. I paid for everything upfront including a $100 deposit (which I was never credited for) to lock in the price of $169 an hr which they raised to $199 an hr. In the middle of moving into my new residence the Manager called me to say that we were over (30 mins) the 4 hrs I paid for and owed an additional $328 or they would stop unloading my furniture.

We had an excellent experience with this moving company. The movers were caring, efficient, and professional throughout the entire process. They arrived on time, worked hard, and handled all of my belongings with great care. The crew carefully unloaded everything and placed each item in the rooms exactly as requested, which made unpacking much easier. UPDATE: I was able to speak with Nina at the corporate office. She was kind, empathetic, and took the time to listen to my concerns. She agreed and acknowledged that the communication regarding fees was an area of improvement and she was able to help me understand more about how fees were calculated. Being able to talk with Nina helped improve my experience with All My Sons.

I am so thankful I choose All My Sons of Des Moines. Two trucks and a 6 man crew (needed every one of them) and Nick handled my move with ease. The crew were diligent and thoughtful of all my materials. When it came time for the move even Nick came to help for an hour and a half. A great price for a remarkable job. I wany to say that this company and some of its workers are ALL STARS! Every company has bad eggs and we had all of them on this move. We had booked for three workers only two showed up due to a transportation issue but we're immediately told that we would be getting the reduced cost of two movers that day. We had Andre and another worker who was his first day and was terrible at this job. Not to be confused with Andre that man could move the earth it's self given enough time!
