In their own words
I used this moving company through seniorsneed.club and Tyler Bryant, who has a partnership with them. I had a contract complete with a quote for a move from my apartment and storage unit to my new home. This contract included 2 trucks and 4 men. Came time for the move, 4 men show up with 1 truck an hour late. It took them 5 hours to empty an 1120 sq foot apartment and an additional 3 hours to unload, repack and reload the truck and empty my storage unit, which was already packed from the first move.
Hi Darcy, I apologize that you had a negative experience with A/C in the past. Please note, the new management/ownership group has changed and has no ties to the organization you mention in your review.
Complicated move gone very wrong. We were told we'd have two trucks to separate items going to different locations. (Some items were going to our camp in Maine and some to storage and then on to an apartment out of state). We were told we would have a crew of 4 men. On moving day we got one truck and 3 men. One of the 3 spent a lot of time on our toilet, and they all seemed very confused about how to get large pieces downstairs.
When the driver arrived on the day of the move he was incredibly rude and negative. We had been told it was possible to move from 1 location to the other in 1 day, although we had been told it would be tight. The driver was clearly …
Update: It took over 2 months to work with the claims department, and it was a very frustrating experience. I was refunded some of the amount, but not what I was asking (I somewhat understand the sofa refund based on contractual obligation, but not for the unaccounted for breaks). Though still if it were me running a company, I would want to work with my clients to ensure things were made right rather than dismissively throw a fraction of what an items value to them just to move on (approx. 25%).
When they got my home items out of the warehouse where someone stored my furniture they indicated that they couldn't believe how things were handled re:my furniture. They could NOT believe I paid 10,000.00 for the transport. They had never serviced anyone with a fee like that large amount. I am tired of being "taken" advance of. Nobody ever mentioned that my items were going to be taken off the moving truck and stored. I am not happy and I will never recommend North American van lines and Allied.
20+ military moves and this was by far the WORST. Don came out to do our move out survey. Said we'd need three full days to pack. Day one of the move and for an 8:00 show time, we receive a call at 10:30 saying they're coming tomorrow …

I can't say enough about this moving team! They were responsive from start to finish. Their estimate was accurate. The guys showed up to move my home and were friendly, fast, and efficient. I fully trusted them once they started and was pleasantly surprised how quickly it went. It was the least stressful piece of my move. Thank you for that! This is the company you want to hire for one of the most stressful processes in life!

The team from Allen and Coles was highly recommended and I understand why. We live in Bangor and they made our move to the Portland area seamless and easy. Everyone from our first contact through to the moving process was positive, helpful, and fully understanding of the bigness of our move. We have just completed the first half of our move from Sedgwick, ME to Topsham, ME by having A&C/PBP move our household goods to storage, while waiting for our new home to be available in early October. Mike and his team were exemplary in the performance of their detailed work to properly pack and move our possessions into their truck. This team was very personable and yet kept their mission in close focus to efficiently remove our furniture. We would want the same team to complete our move from storage in October.
