Allen & Son Moving & Storage

Many items were broken. Small table had two legs that were broken. Caught one of the movers dragging a small lightweight box clearly marked with several fragile stickers down the stairs. The outside had a picture of a small chandelier on it. That should have been an indication to handle with care! The contents of that box was damaged as well. I had several items in large vinyl and cloth bags that is often used for moving. They refused to take them even though they only contained clothes, linens, towels...

I hate that I have to write this review. I reached out to this company on 3 separate occasions and by 2 forms of communication for a corporate move. I initially placed an email inquiry on their website. When I noticed, after about 2 days, that I didn’t get a response, I decided to call. The young lady that answered the phone was snappy. I gave her my name and told her why I was calling. Before I could get it all out she replied “yeah we got your request online. We will check out availability and respond to you”.

I'm in the midst of a family emergency and closing on my home. When the evaluator got to my house I told him that I haven't been able to adequately pack and that a loved one was in the hospital. With no compassion at all he told me my house wasn't ready to be moved. He offered no alternatives, no other options to help get this done. He was cold and bordering on disrespectful. I didn't argue I invited him to leave and called Focus Movers immediately and explained my situation.

TLDR: Bait and switch tactics. Poor customer service, lackluster communication, non-existent conflict resolution by management and central office specifically. Very disappointed with this company as I had hoped to build a positive professional relationship with this moving company for future moves. The only good thing about this company were the actual movers. They were fantastic, hard-working guys and easy to talk with. That's the only compliment this company will receive here.

My property management company hired Allen & Son Moving & Storage recently, and while the moving team itself was excellent—punctual, professional, and hardworking—the overall experience was soured by how management handled an issue. Unfortunately, during the move, my TV was damaged. There were no steps taken to make sure my stuff was good before they left. The crew acknowledged the broken TV and took photos a day after it happened. I was optimistic the company would make things right.

Absolutely awful. Only positive is that they were friendly, however impressively incompetent. Used for a military move and they broke just about everything you could possibly break. Glass frames packed at the bottom of boxes of heavy items, completely unwrapped. They broke my husband's computer because it was completely unprotected and even managed to shatter a plastic tote. They dropped a grill off the back of the truck because they tried to stack it on top of everything else.

I arranged for my move several months in advance with one of their associates, spending weeks discussing the details and ensuring that my move would work. I call today, a month before my move, and apparently he no longer works with them, did not file the paperwork correctly, and they are unable to service my move, leaving me to scramble for another mover during the worst time of year to do so - in exactly the kind of situation I hoped to avoid.

Overall this was a terrible company to use. There is no very poor or unacceptable label for the quality for these movers. When we used them, they damaged several pieces of wood furniture, and dented my television. Not only that, but they lost several boxes. When they arrived at the home we were moving into, the driver missed our driveway and got stuck. They also took twice as long to move everything inside, which is incredibly odd as they lost at least 3 large boxes of my belongings. Do not use this company!
