Bellhop Movers Baltimore

Not sure where all these great reviews are coming from but in my experience, this was the worst move I have ever experienced. My move was cancelled after I showed up because they did not have an available truck and only found this out 5 minutes before my scheduled move. When they were actually able to get a functional truck the next day, only one mover showed up on time. He clocked in right away although the second mover showed up almost 20 minutes late.

I made an initial review before finding out items were missing after being placed in the vehicle of one of the.movers. I sent text messages. The link to complete for items missing or broken could not be downloaded and completed so I sent pics and detailed I do via text. The occurrence happened in August and I have yet to receive my item or reimbursement. Don't complete any paperwork or write a review until you and your team check together to confirm all items were moved according to the contract.

I had 10 ITEMS damaged. Some of them had a marble top broken, lacquered surfaces scratched and wooden parts broken. Some of the furniture cost me more then $1100. One was a antique marble top console. Be aware Bellhops claim process for damaged furniture is based by the pound (60 cents by pound). So if you have a dinning table from Ikea or from Restoration Hardware you will get the same amount back. They don't consider the value you paid for your furniture.

READ THE SMALL PRINT! Bellhop movers is a sham organization that contracts with shoddy third-party movers. The company that they hired to move our home damaged, soiled and in some cases destroyed our furniture. They way they packed was completely negligent. Before the move day, I called Bellhop customer service and asked if I needed to wrap or protect my furniture. Bellhop assured me that the movers would do so. When they started to haul stuff out without wrapping or covering, I reminded them to wrap everything.

I hired these guys because I saw that they had good reviews on Google and they had a deal on Groupon where I could get $200 worth of service for $127. When I called the actual office, they were really friendly and they told me that the estimate for 3 hours of work would be $327. So after my Groupon was applied, I would be looking at $127. This was fine. Then, the night before I was supposed to move, I got a call asking me if I could move my moving date to the day after.

I am not sure why this company has received so many positive ratings. My experience with this “moving” company was far from five-star. I use the term “moving company” loosely. It was more like two bodies and a truck. The boys (yes, boys...if you are expecting brawny men with a decent amount of muscle strength, look elsewhere) who showed up were on time. That was about the only good thing.

This is the third time I used Bellhops. My first two experiences were wonderful. This time, many things were damaged (see pictures). I have been trying to follow the process for filing a claim and it has been outrageous. It took them 9 days to even email me the claims form after I called the day after my move to initiate the process. After weeks, a few emails and many calls, I was finally assigned to a claims agent.

DON"T USE BELLHOPS! I scheduled a move through Bellhops a few weeks ago. I went through the website to schedule the move and then called Customer Service to talk through the details of the move, to ensure they understood the needs of the move (1,000 sq. ft. row home, 2BR, 1BA (20 min. drive time to new house)). I also worked with my neighbors to ensure I could get ample parking for the large truck that was promised. On the day of the move, only 2 of the scheduled 4 movers showed up on time.
