Alliance Movers

I guess I got what I paid for. This company happened to be the cheapest. The two movers that were provided did an ok job. They arrived late & pretty much tried to rush the job to get back on schedule. Unfortunately my building was down an elevator so I wound up helping them move my stuff. My two hour move took three hours but that was the least of my problems. Issue #1: One guy disassembled some of my furniture, and lost the screws to my sofa and lamps.

AVOID AT ALL COST!! Hiring Alliance Movers was one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made. They completely ruined my $2,000 sofa — and then refused to take even the smallest bit of responsibility. Despite the fact that I gave them over 25 moving blankets and my sofa was already wrapped in protective plastic, their crew removed the plastic, shoved the sofa onto the truck with zero care, and made no effort to protect it.

Showed up an hour late, the other crew went to a wrong address, the owner said the other crew is a construction worker ( due to staff shortage ), they brought a way smaller truck than needed and that made them load with an unexpected delay ( the only thing we heard was "Sorry" ) Although the photos of everything that needed to be moved was sent and we agreed to 3 hours, it took them 5 hours. and last but not least, they charge you in 15 minutes increment.

Very responsive and polite communication. Provider was 4.5 hours late, lied about the box not being ready at U-Haul (I called and talked directly to the service representative on site), delivered the wrong UBox, complained how late and dark it was before they finished (it would have been light out if they would have arrived on time or even at the agreed-upon 1.5 hours later due to an issue with the previous job). Was rude and abrupt. Assistant was terrific.

Whatever you do do not use this company. They are a broker who takes a high deposit and then hires the job out to.whomever. When whomever showed up they asked for $4000 more than the contract I signed. They left. I have been called names, been hung up on. I have been accused of adding more items to the list which is not true. This is the worse business I have ever hired. They took $3260 and did not do the job.

When booking my move I went over the details with the booking agent, possible local or long distance. The booking agent assured me I would not pay anything if I didn’t actually move. I tried getting back in touch with him and was unsuccessful, one of the customer service agents told me the booking agent would not have told me the things I wa explaining. My pick up window was 10-2, I was called by the driver around 45 min before 2 and was informed they could not be there until 5-8pm.

After a terrible first experience with Alliance Movers I decided to give them another try against my better judgment. I hired two movers for two hours and only one arrived. The owner, Amin, showed up over an hour past the reservation time to help with the move that was nearly completed. He was disrespectful and rude and demanded I pay him for an hour's worth of moving despite the fact that the mover, Adam, had singlehandedly moved in everything except for a mattress.

I sought out Alliance Movers because they had good reviews, and I paid a premium for their services (4x the rate of the cheapest option). I expected quality service, and items to be packed with care and attention. However my experience was anything but. Items were tossed in boxes with no thought. My two U Boxes were packed with fragile things heaped atop fragile things. My two U Box containers were packed so poorly, that we ran out of space before fitting all my things.
