College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Richmond

My experience with this moving company was consistently substandard, marked by organizational chaos and a failure to deliver on basic professional commitments.The scheduling process was the first sign of disarray. While on the phone confirming the booking, I received two separate scheduling calls and voicemails from the organization, clearly demonstrating internal communication failure. On move day, I received a call before 8 AM asking for an earlier (11 AM) arrival instead of the confirmed 3-5 PM window.

If I could give a 0 I would. I was overcharged for hauling junk from my Mom’s house for a 5/6 of a truck full. My biggest issue was there were two king sized mattresses in the truck before they showed up….an hour and a half late. My window was 1-3 and they showed at 430 with no contact. The job took maybe 10 minutes and didn’t even cover the floor of the truck, so how could that be a 5/6 full truck? When I questioned Brayden he said, “I have to make money too”… really? Great customer service there buddy!

Company offered a fair price, but wasn't the services I needed. After telling them "no", I had to stop text messages because they wouldn't stop sending messages. After 4 days, and a number of received phone calls with no change to their pricing, they are still calling me asking if I need their services. I am giving them 1 star because they don't communicate internally to remove my number from their potential customer list or are simply overly aggressive in their customer call backs to the point where I will never…

Update: We had great experience with College HUNKS guys! Landon and his team was amazing in packing, loading and handling all our furniture, appliances and fragile kitchen items. But Zymir, HUNKS coordinator is LIAR!!! He made us buy furniture pads for $500 and told us he will refund us once move is complete. Once move was completed, he said, sorry, those blankets are yours and $500 is non-refundable. College Hunks in Orlando FL took the blankets but never refunded money!!!

some good but mostly bad. I’ll start off with the positive by saying that process of setting up the move was pretty easy and straightforward and the movers that we had were very friendly and overall pleasant to work with. So customer service wise I would give a A+. The problem is the move itself was not particularly smooth. I had multiple pieces of furniture that were left with scrapes and dents. In addition to that, they dropped a table in the process of unloading and snapped the leg off of it.

I want to start this review by saying that the movers themselves were wonderful. We appreciate them greatly. However, the company needs to sort out their service. We had a move back in March, and my business has needed an official receipt for a legal purpose. I called 4x (the fourth today). No one at the number can put me in contact with the local office (the reps are clearly not empowered to help - they are most definitely outsourced), so they have told me now four times that someone from the local office will…

The employees are fine, zero problem there. The men that came to help us move were polite and professional. They took great care in handling all of our items. The customer service is the nightmare. I confirmed twice prior to my move what needed to be moved, including a refrigerator. The team never had notes of that and so we’re not equipped with an appliance dolly. I had to run out and rent one myself. I also asked that shoe covers be worn or that something was brought to cover the carpet on my stairs.

I had used this company before (in 2020) and they were AWESOME! It only took an hour and a half to move my entire apartment down the street AND throw out some old furniture to the trash behind my building, but this time my experience was TERRIBLE. One of the men kept asking me out on a date. He kept playing with my hoodie and asking how old I was.
