AMEX Moving & Storage

Worst experience moving. They underestimated the truck size even though we clearly stated we would have them packing and did multiple video walkthroughs. They fought on our front lawn which was a great embarrassment and we were magically charged an extra 10k because they apparently didnt do their part correctly in the estimate when agreeing to work with them. They damaged a good portion of my belongings and also have things missing like a giant tote with art supplies and Christmas decorations.

Our move was from Jersey City, New Jersey to South Bend, Indiana. We would not recommend using this company for any move. We started the experience 4 weeks before we needed to move. We called the number listed on the website, thinking it was an internal sales associate, only later to find out this was most definitely a broker. The agent we spoke to was named Patrick and we provided a detailed itemized moving sheet with details as well as a video walk through of everything we needed to have moved.

This was the worst moving experience I have ever had. We were told the movers would arrive between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m., but they didn’t show up until 7:45 p.m. When they finally arrived, they walked into our home and immediately started complaining about the amount of our belongings. While we did have a few more boxes than originally estimated, we actually had less furniture. We contacted the company twice before moving day to update our inventory, and both times we were told not to worry about it.

I am not happy. My daughter was devastated when all her prized possessions were packed away and we never got them back. I have called and called but they refuse to find the missing boxes. How did they lose multiple boxes and they refuse to attempt to find them?! My poor daughter has been upset for weeks and i cannot replace her possessions that her deceased family members had given her. Not moving with this company again.

Used AMEX for our move from NYC to Virginia. After the moving team packed up our house in the truck, their supervisor pulled me and my wife aside. She essentially asked to see our phones for the purpose of the google review. She went into detail about how the company prides itself on their 5-Star reviews. She was extremely pushy. She took our staged picture in front of the moving truck and helped dictate the 5 star review. At the time, I didn't have much reason to push back.

Do not recommend whatsoever. My family and I used AMEX moving when moving from Connecticut to North Carolina in August. At first all seemed well, and things were packed up completely. Items were combined from different rooms at the time and scattered into random boxes but we did not mind. We actually had a 5 star review up for this company until a few days ago.

The guy that starts everything is nice and charming and helpful. Then when they get your deposit , boy does the experience change. Back out of everything he told you, try every trick to charge more and more money. The attitude of the lady is atrocious , deeply unpleasant and every interaction leads to ever growing stress. Moving is stressful enough - I would advise anyone to not add to bill having to deal with this horrible rude aggressive, woman.
