Golden Glove Movers

Golden glove movers performance during my move was horrible. The team that delivered my furniture was unprofessional. Multiple items including a platform bed and two side buffets were damaged during the move. Their team barely tried to assemble the damaged furniture and left without assembling beds and sofas that were supposed to be assembled according the contract.

I wish I could give this no stars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They quoted me at around $3500 across the country move and told me this was just a quote which I knew was the case as I am not naive. But my issue was that when they got to my place, I asked what the estimate would be and was told "we have to load it first to get it". At this point I was already scheduled to move that day as my lease was ending the next so this should have been my first sign of a shady company.

DO NOT USE. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was quoted $7,700 for my move from NJ to FL. They came and looked at everything the day of the move and told us the price would actually be $17,000. When we did the inventory over the phone I gave them every piece of furniture, and 30 boxes/bags. I knew there would be some odds and ends that I didn't account for but they never asked me for measurements/sizes for anything to even give me the quote.

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience was so frustrating and upsetting that I feel compelled to share it in hopes of saving someone else from the same ordeal. What was supposed to be a relatively smooth moving day turned into a disaster, with multiple items broken or ruined, poor communication, and no genuine accountability from this company. I would give zero stars if I could. Although this company has relatively good reviews and a good rating with the better business bureau (although we have filed a complaint against them for their deceptive business practices) there are a number of things you should be aware of before you book moving with Golden Glove Movers. The #1 thing to be wary of is what service you’re being provided.

I cannot stress this enough, avoid these people at all costs. The positive reviews are definitely fake. They add on costs like there's no tomorrow and their quote means nothing. You get a quote based on the items you are moving (mind you we gave dimensions so that the cubic ft would be accurate). Then, when they get to the pickup location, they upcharged $1500 saying that it's based on lines on the truck so you are at the mercy of how they organize your belongings on the truck, and when you question the empty…

Beware the price that they originally give you will not be the final price that you pay. this company bait and switched us three times during the course of this move the original price it was given the up charge the day they came to pick it up and then the shuttle fee to Deliver it to the home. They originally quoted 4800 to move from Massachusetts to Florida.

Left tape and trash everywhere, including the curb of our apartment, upon arrival half broken bedframe and broken handle of our dresser, box labled fragile had broken glass bottles, management number was not willing to walk me through submitting my claim for broken furniture and items, left part of our bed frame in their storage unit. Also took the full 21 days to deliver after giving them the new address. Still asked for a tip after saying sorry for broken frame.
