In their own words
One of the worst moving experiences of my life. Company was late, didnt finish the move on time, charged doubled the written estimate, and damaged walls and furniture. In addition, the movers and owner complained about stairs incessantly and were verbally aggressive regarding extra charges. Do not use under any circumstances!
TLDR: The owner (Artur) ultimately forced us to leave this review due to his incompetence and stubbornness. The actual movers were very nice, however we ended up paying a lot more due to owner’s mistakes. Full review: Last year I used a different moving company and it was the easiest and fastest move ever. It took them only 2 hours to move EVERYTHING and they were so fast I left them $100 tip. Sadly this year they were fully booked for September so I had to get quotes online from other companies.
We were looking to hire movers for our 4th time. We moved from out-of state and did our first local move in Alexandria. We did not have the best experience. The movers showed up about 45 minutes late, stating they had truck issues. We did an initial walkthrough, and we thought that the movers moved fairly slow. We started helping and bringing boxes to the truck. They struggled getting a couch up from our basement where the initial movers did not. This seemed to take them 15 minutes.
My husband called initially to get a quote and was given a lower price than when I called a few days later. Despite that, we decided to proceed with hiring them. It took them several hours longer than anticipated. Several items were destroyed including the screen to our Samsung TV which unfortunately we did not plug in until a month after the move.
Alexandra, In case of any accident we discuss it right away, and try to resolve any issues on the spot. Or we might receive an email later, or at least a phone call. We never got any information in this regard from you.
Had a horrible experience with Artur. Moving a small 1 br apartment took 6 hours and almost $900. This is absolutely ridiculous and literally any other company I contacted offered this service for half the price. Artur was great at marketing but terrible at delivering actual results, meeting client’s expectations and beating other offers as he promised initially. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I recently had the pleasure of using the services of a Arko moving company for my relocation, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and made my move completely hassle-free. The communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Arthur promptly answered all my questions and provided clear instructions and guidance. They were extremely organized and ensured that all my belongings were properly packed and protected.
Flawless. Arthur and his team moved us from Washington DC to San Francisco last month, and it couldn't have been easier. Arthur is a joy to work with, and his crew was thoughtful and efficient. Not to mention timely, organized, great communication, and a great price! Moving can be so stressful, and the full-service job they did (including materials, packing, loading, moving across country, and unloading) made it all seem simple. Everything arrived in perfect condition, too. Can't recommend these guys enough.
I highly recommend ARKO Moving if you're looking for a reliable moving company in DC and MD! I discovered this company through a friend's recommendation. Before committing, I reviewed their feedback and noticed some negative reviews about the movers. Concerned, I discussed these with Arthur, the owner of ARKO Moving. He kindly explained that these issues usually arose from logistical oversights, such as not reserving the elevator or securing the loading dock for truck parking.
I used Arko Moving this past January 2018 for my move from Columbia to Silver Spring. The team did a phenomenal job!!! They are the best moving company I have used (and I have used many in the last 10 years). I highly recommend them!
