Careless Packing Caused Extensive Damage to Our Belongings I packed approximately 90% of our home myself and hired this company to help finish the remaining 10%. Every issue we’ve discovered so far has been in boxes packed by the movers. The boxes we packed ourselves arrived organized and undamaged. The boxes packed by the moving crew show a consistent pattern of carelessness, poor organization, and complete disregard for protecting other people’s belongings.

Jason was the sales manager that I spoke with after speaking with Emily, who is the sales representative. I had the move date of 3/15 in mind and was doing researching and shopping. I called at G&J moving at the end of February. I got the estimate after Emily getting a gist of how big the move is going to be. I got a quote via text message. It was on the higher side and I continued to look around. That's when I got a call from Jason.

Do not use Great Job Movers, especially if moving out of the DMV area. We book them in early May for a pick-up date of June 29th, plenty of time in advance. They came and picked everything up with relatively little problems. BUT they kept our things in storage for the past 16 days rather than get on the road, saying there have been numerous problems "out of their control" that came up. At first, they told us they were in the process of booking a driver for our move.

i would select another moving company if you need temporary storage of your household goods. They have never validated to me why my storage rate increased about $100 per month following my original quote, they said the rate was because my household items took more space than previously estimated… well to me that didn’t make sense because I ended up not putting so many things in storage than previously thought.

Unaccountable and transactional. Would not recommend. This company overbooks and prioritizes volume over customer care. They didn’t honor the time I paid for, and their communication afterward was evasive and unprofessional. Unless your move fits perfectly within their rigid system—and you don’t need flexibility or fairness when things go wrong—look elsewhere. The situation: I booked 3 hours of help for 5 major items, noting I might have more to move but didn’t yet have a full estimate.

Thank you Great Job Moving and Storage for parking this giant moving truck right behind my car for multiple hours unattended, in the morning, making it so I couldn’t get to work. I stood around for a good ten minutes banging on the side of the truck and yelling, praying SOMEONE was nearby, because surely they wouldn’t just leave that there? Nothing, no one around. This was at 9am and my partner told me they didn’t show up until closer to 11am.

Inconvenienced me for a whole week, close to move in day had to find another company. Very unprofessional and would not recommend. Their Response "All good, No problem". That is a pretty huge problem!
