We have used a number of pack and move companies as a military family and this was BY FAR the most horrible. They packed everything by seemingly throwing things into boxes and “unpacked” by basically spilling out the boxes they packed. No time or care was taken to keep pieces of things together. They reassembled my child’s loft bed without a screw and said nothing about it to me. I didn’t realize a screw was missing until my small child was falling asleep and I noticed the railing of his bed was loose.
Alexandra, I’m very sorry to hear this. What you described is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide, especially the concern with your child’s bed. I would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly so we can better understand what happened and work toward making…
I wish I could give a negative 5 stars. This was my 3rd time using Express Moving and Storage and this was by far the worst move I’ve ever experienced. Granted unexpected things happen when moving, however I whole heartedly believe this move went so terribly bad because the crew used was inexperienced…that’s the only excuse I can come up with for why a 2 bedroom apartment move, with there being 15 minutes travel time between the old and new homes and both locations having elevators talking 7 1/2 hours and the move…
DO NOT BOOK THESE MOVERS! THEY STOLE $100 FROM AND REFUSE TO RETURN IT. I booked a labor only move for the day of my move. My travel took two hours longer than expected as I was traveling across the country. I alerted them to give them a heads up so they weren’t waiting for me and asked to push the time back two hours. They agreed, but then stated I was still going to be charged hourly starting at the original time we booked (even if the workers were sitting at the warehouse, not working).

called to talk to someone about pricing and he was not all that nice and got hung up on then would not take our calls after had to call from my daughters phone for him to pick up again and after trying to explain why we did not go with pods as they kept uping the price he hung up on us again not very professional at all will be warning people away from using them in the future
Dear Melody, I’m concerned that you may have left a review for the wrong “Express” moving company as there are quite a few in this area with similar names. We have multiple reps that answer our phones, as opposed to one person.

Update 1/31/2026: had our 2nd stress-free, very efficient move with Express after 2.5 years. Crew of 4 was able to skillfully park the truck in a different garage due to destination building’s service elevator wasn’t working, and navigate all the snow built up on the streets. No damages, reasonable pricing, very organized intake and communication process!! I found them on Angi and Peter gave me a call to ask for the move information/inventory so he can provide a quote.

Update: We completed our move and storage with Express Moving and Storage and cannot say enough about our experience! They were the best moving and storage company we have ever worked with. They picked up our home contents in one city, stored them at their facility for over 3 months and then scheduled delivery to our new address on the day and time we requested. Everything was in perfect condition. I have never seen such attention to detail in wrapping every item and careful handling of our things.

I first heard of Express Moving and Storage that came highly recommended by my coworker who used their services for her move. So after reading their reviews, I decided to email this company to obtain their estimated quote among other professional moving companies. The owner, Robin, promptly replied back with a detailed list of fees for the total cost. But, see, it wasn’t his quote that was very fair and accommodating; it was his pleasant attitude and his willingness to work with you that mattered the most to me.
I just completed a move with Express Moving & Storage of Alexandria (6/20/24) and it was a very satisfactory experience from beginning to end. My initial call to Britini resulted in an appointment with the Co-Owner, Robin, to come and do the initial inventory of my household goods and from that he was able to give me the initial quote. However, after several conversations, Robin was able to make some suggestions to reduce the quote which I was able to do and so we got down to one truck & 4 movers.
