DC Top Choice Movers

Don’t use this company, very disappointed in the quality of work they did with loading our trailer. We unloaded our trailer only to find broken furniture, my lawnmower sitting on top of my new recliner with the blades rubbing the fabric, who does that? I provided ratchet straps, blankets and wrap for them to use, they used non of it. The only furniture that was wrapped, was the furniture we wrapped.

Before choosing this company I read the reviews and a few people stated they canceled due to COVID workers. Well the day before my scheduled appointment they called to reschedule due to workers had COVID. I was like "oh Lord here we go, I guess they are going to continue to use the same excuse when they need to reschedule!" So, my appointment got rescheduled for a later time. When the team was due to come they texted me 3mins prior to let me know they were going to be late.

When I initiated my reservation, you must pay the amount due for services that have yet to be rendered. You would think that when a customer pays, the movers get a code, an email, a text stating the individual has paid and reserved/requested a date and time. Long story short, we exchanged a few emails that were initiated by the company inquiring the amount of furniture. A few nights later I receive am email at 10pm inquiring what size truck I had rented. Again, I responded within minutes.

My fiancé and I used this service to move apartments in Alexandria. He and his friend had used the service before and had a perfectly pleasant experience. The same was not true this time around. The packing team was one man short so we had just one guy show up to pack up 5 rooms; he spent 5 out of 6 hours just packing up the kitchen! JUST THE KITCHEN! We had to call two to come over to help us pack up the other rooms before the movers arrived!

Do not hire this company. I repeat, do not hire this company. The owner is now lying about the whole incident, but believe me, it was not a safe situation, and I was worried about harm to my son in the moment. The guys hired to do our move were not professional movers, and were hired last minute on craigslist. They showed up, inebriated, insisting that my son pay them in cash, and one of them impaired to the point of high concern.

I hired them in late February of 2023. It was a bad experience that I will not soon forget. They had no moving pads. I was on a deadline and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt as the day got worse and worse. It was a 3 stop move (main house, storage bin, second house) and they only completed 2 out of 3. Even the 2 parts of the move they left several large items in garage that I asked them to take to basement.

Avoid this company at all cost! We recently moved from Indinana and had scheduled DC Top Choice Movers to unpack our U-Haul. We arrived in town later then expected and confirmed a new time with the movers. We waited an hour for the movers to show with no movers in site. We called several times and emailed the company, all calls and emails went unanswered. Three hours after the agreed upon time it was clear DC Top Choice Movers where not going to show up.

I do not recommend DC Top Choice Movers. The individuals that moved my furniture were kind. However, my marble table was dropped while it was being carried. My table top was face down on the cement which was baffling. The movers apologized. When I called to figure out how my item was going to be paid for I did not receive a call back. I emailed and got into a disagreement with Amy and or Robin. They did not want to accept responsibility.
