I compared 4 different moving companies before making my decision, and I chose this company because of their very high reviews and strong reputation online. Overall, the move itself went fairly smoothly, and the movers worked hard. However, there was about a 30-minute period during the move where some of the workers were arguing with each other due to miscommunication, which made the process feel somewhat unprofessional and stressful.

I had an extremely negative experience with this moving company. The initial estimate was $2,900, but when the job was finally done, they demanded $5,400—almost double the original quote. The move was estimated at 8 hours, but it ended up taking 15 hours with additional worker and truck, going late into the night. What made the situation worse was that I was told I had to sign and pay immediately or the workers would not be allowed to leave. This felt very pressured and unprofessional.

Very disappointed with the packing we had done by BoxStars. Wine glasses were packed on their sides, had about half shattered. Other fragile things (vases) were packed under other heavier things. Most boxes weren't full, and just little care to pack efficiently. Boxes were collapsed due to inefficiencies in packing them. They also ask you to leave a review before they leave, so I feel like some of these reviews would be different if they didn't ask you to review before they left your house.

Had the absolute displeasure of being sold by Anna Davis. This company is more concerned with selling than delivering a quality service. Borderline predatory tactics. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know.

I would highly recommend using BoxStar Movers! I did a lot of research on moving companies when I was planning our move from Washington, DC to Arlington, VA. I had a fantastic experience moving from Del Ray to Capitol Hill with Boxstar Moving. Russell in sales was my initial point of contact, and he was very thorough in explaining the logistics of moving into the District, especially regarding the narrow streets and parking permits. I had a phenomenal experience with BoxStar Movers and would genuinely recommend them if you want to eliminate any stress associated with moving. Bonus is that you can use that additional brain capacity to focus on your new home. For context, I left my old place as-is. Completely unpacked, laundry still being ran. BoxStar’s team handled it completely from packing, protecting, loading, transporting, unloading, and placing items exactly where they should be in my new place.
