I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this company warrants one. The movers arrived 2 hours late, not a quick delay, but a full two hours, with zero communication on their end. We had to call multiple times just to find out what was going on. That alone set the tone for the entire day. Multiple items were damaged during the move. While we were offered some money back, the reimbursement didn’t come close to covering the actual cost of what was broken.
Hi Courtney, thanks for your review. While some details are inaccurate, we take full accountability for your experience. We communicated your 12:30pm slot well in advance, but due to an earlier job running over, our crew arrived at 1:35pm.
Called just now to request a quote for a moving service and potentially schedule them for a service, but that went out the door bc immediately was hung up on. got a "Hello?" when the rep answered didn't even identify themselves as a business or ask any introductory questions, so when i introduced myself and asked if the number i was calling that i directly got from google was Ballew moving, there was no response, they just hung up.
Please Disregard. Another Fake Review. There has been a series of recent unverified negative reviews by someone who wants us to pay them to remove these negative reviews. We have no records of this call or any accounts as such.
I hired this company for a local move (under 2 miles) on 9/23. The crew showed up without basic supplies like tape or bins, and ended up using dozens of my personal trash bags to move loose items—completely unprofessional. They caused noticeable wall damage in my new place, which they walked past several times and on the phone told me they were too busy to notice.
Hey Catherine, We are sad to hear you are not pleased with our services. After the move there was a walkthrough conducted along with customer and there were no comments of dissatisfaction or damages from customer. In fact, customer seemed very pleased with our services.
I had a bad experience with another moving company. I called these folks and attempted to share my negative experience. The intention was to seek assurance that the same issues wouldn't happen. I wasn't ten seconds into my brief accounting before the Ballew Moving LLC representative interrupted me. He said, "What's the question? Yea, that's not us, get to your question!" He said it with annoyance and absolutely zero patience. There are too many moving companies in central Indiana to have to deal with such rudeness.
Thanks for your feed back. As we do not agree this is an accurate depiction of what happened, we must take accountability. Since we began here in Indianapolis in 2019, we have taken thousands of phone calls from people inquiring about our services and have never had anyone experience a situation…
One of the worst moves. They not only had lazy workers who took way too long. They also had broken many things on the move and damaged many items. Be careful. The workers seemed disorientated and likely underpaid with no motivation to do a good job. Avoid at all costs!!
Hey Ameet, We understand you have the right to express your opinion, but we believe these allegations against our company are unfair and inaccurate. Firstly, your move took 3.25 hours, which falls within our 3-hour minimum requirement.
Broken pieces & highly conflicting working hours. The movers were dishonest, slow and damaged products on the move! Then after the move called and harassed stating bylaws that do not require them to cover anything and to read the fine print. BE CAREFUL!
This is a repeated review from a customer named Ameet Rai. We don’t believe this is fair because the person is using defamation. This feedback shouldn’t be taken into account because it’s full of inaccurate information.
Ballew Moving seems like they’ve done great work for a lot of people. Unfortunately, our experience was different, as there was a mixup regarding our moving date. The repurcussions for us were significant. I wish it had gone differently.

Ours truly was a "moving" experience, for all the right reasons. Nilijah and his team were hard workers. They showed up on time, divided up their duties and got to work immediately. All were careful and courteous. All of our things were padded and wrapped for the long trip home. This team worked together like a well oiled and experienced machine. The offload was more difficult due to much different logistics but they handled it like champs---nothing was broken.

Ballew Moving did a outstanding job! The owner Nilijah and his team Joe and Brandon greeted me with beautiful smiles. After traveling from Indianapolis to St.Louis MO they were still energetic and prepared to return my furniture and personal items back to Indianapolis. It was a pleasure and honor to observe their professionalism and teamwork. Ballew movers are genuine experienced professionals who exhibited great customer service patience and kindness.
Nilijah and his team were great to work with! We needed help with an out-of-state move to transition my mother from her large, very full home to her new home with family 600+ miles away. It has been a very stressful time for my family, but Ballew made it much easier. Unlike the bigger corporate moving companies / brokers, you can always reach a single person (Nilijah) via phone, text, or email. The whole process was actually incredibly simple and they put my anxious mind at ease.
Ballew Moving Co. was the best decision I made for my cross-state move! After receiving a few quotes from other moving companies in the area, Ballew was the most cost-efficient and felt they had more value for their services. All the way up to my moving day, the company was quite flexible with my arrangements which led me to feel more at ease if anything was to suddenly change on my end. Nilijah and Malik were super professional and took very great care of my items – which none were damaged.
