In their own words
Used 2 times- 1st was small move and worked ok- second was complete disaster. sent army and paid for an army to work. Only problem? Only 1 of 5 people worked. Was charged for all- everything arrived weeks late, broken, scratched, missing small parts, items dropped right off the truck. I requested full replacement value insurance. During the confusion it was unchecked after tripling the quoted price.
This company is actively participating in the movers scam. They gave me a "not to exceed" contract, marked boldly in large print. Once they loaded up all my furniture and drove away they demand more money than the contract. DO NOT TRUST THEM! The salesman walked thru my entire house and looked in every closet and cabinet writing every item down so they had no excuse. I thought using a well known company I was avoiding the scam but my furniture was held for ransom.
Dear Sir, we have no record of the move you refer to. We are attempting to investigate your complaint further but require more information. Under what name was your move booked? Who was your salesperson? When did this move take place?
I thought after talking with Serena and going over all that I could expect, this mover seemed like a good fit. I was sooo wrong. I was told that my upholstered furniture would be wrapped in plastic and covered with moving blankets. When I pointed out that my dining room was relatively new and had never been used (thus not a scratch on any piece) I was told they would cover the wood pieces with paper (7 layers thick) and then cover with moving blankets. They did neither.
Most of the move experience was fine aside from the fact that they lost one of my boxes which had my dishes in it that held family heirloom plates from the year I was born. When I asked for help on it, and perhaps it got mixed in with someone else's move I was told by the driver that "One of your friends must have stolen it on the day of the move". The subsequent claim was denied by Bekins for any reimbursement (no surprise there) as they take the driver's word for his mishandling of my move.
they give one estimate first and then upon pick up if the weight is more than estimated they charge you. they charged me 1 k more! the truck couldn't get into my storage facility and had to shuttle my items. they charged me for that as well. moving guy had a rbf the entire time. i felt extorted since they had my stuff already! 1 k more for 250 pounds extra and their truck not fitting?! really?
Ms. Wheeler, Having read your review we take all concerns very seriously and immediately began looking into this matter. We have discovered that we at Bekins of South Florida are not the office that booked or managed your move and we have no control over the pricing or any aspect of the move…
I contacted Bekins of South Florida for a quote while planning my move. Paul Stroncek was professional initially, and the estimate itself was detailed and transparent. However, the pricing felt far too high considering I was only moving about 5 miles away locally. I ultimately went with All My Sons Moving instead, and my final cost came out to around $935 versus Bekins’ estimated $1,350–$1,550 for essentially the same local move. The price difference was hard to ignore.
Thank you for sharing your feedback about your initial experience with us. Though we are disappointed that you gave us a negative review despite not even using our services, we are sorry that our sales process fell short of your expectations.
BEWARE!!! We had a similar experience to Ignacio F. Unfortunately, we can only conclude at this point that a theft occurred by a Bekins employee. Bekins will take no responsibility for it, nor will they pay out our claim for the $1200 in missing items. The items were stored in a chest in our home, and shortly before they went into Bekins possession, the contents were photographed. Bekins packed the chest the items were in and stored them at their warehouse, before delivering them to our destination.
CAVEAT EMPTOR ! ! ! I am an EXTREMELY dissatisfied customer. I was lied to or mislead from the beginning of the process until delivery. The processes and procedures used in my shipment set me up for failure from the beginning. The estimator assured that the driver at origin would be the same at delivery. The packing crew arrived late and unprepared. The paperwork at origin was incomplete, and inaccurate and the driver did not know how to properly complete it.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
I recently had an interstate move with Jhonnatan, Nestor and Antonio. I was extremely impressed by how punctual, efficient and polite they were. Not only were they on time, but they arrived early and finished the job quickly. Jhonnatan was very communicative, keeping me informed each step of the way. These movers displayed a level professionalism and curtesy that was beyond my expectations. They even went above and beyond by fixing a piece of furniture that had been assembled incorrectly by someone else.
Thank you for your kinds words. We will share with our team. We are happy to be of service!
We were dreading our move to Utah because all we read were bad reviews of just about every moving company out there. My sister recommended Bekins as she had a good experience with them and I am so glad she did. From my first meeting with Luis until the final unloading this morning, everything went so smoothly. Luis, the salesperson was really the best. He explained everything well, came.
Thank you for your positive comments. In our fifty years in business we strive to create happy customers for life and are pleased that we were able to make your move a stress free and positive experience! Please ket us know if we can be of service again!
After having spent several weeks looking for a moving company, all I was reading was horror story after horror story. I was up against the wall time-wise and I was losing hope. Then I found BEKINS of South Florida. I happened to get a response from Paul Stroncek (Private Relocation Specialist). We went back and forth for 2 weeks making sure that everything was accounted for in the estimate (I am out of state, hence the extended discussions on the estimate, no fault of Paul’s).
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us. Bekins of South Florida has been providing superior moving services to our clients for over 50 years. Our experienced representatives, drivers, and crew always strive to serve our customers professionally!
I had to move in less than 10 day from my house on the beach (Pine Tree dr) because my house sold. OVERWHELMED! The BEST decision I made- hiring Bekins. They sent a crew, packed EVERYTHING in three days and stored it for me for 4 months until my new home was done. When I moved into my new home on the Grove, two full trucks arrived completely full of my belongings.. Did not know were to even start. The bekins crew sensed my stress and calmed me down and took care of everything!
