STAY FAR AWAY!!! HE SHOWED UP 4 hours late!!! He didn't call me to let me know he was going to be late. HE DIDN'T ANSWER MY CALL AND ONLY RESPONDED THROUGH TEXTS. He moved my things and then argued with me about only wanting to pay him the rate he quoted me, $630. With the initial $100 deposit, I still owed him $530. When I paid him the money he got nasty with me and was just rude and unprofessional. He said I tried to shortchange him when I gave him the rest of the money I thought I owed.

A lot of this is untrue, and I find your accusations very offensive. Nobody threatened anybody or raised their voice. It is very important to me that the reader understands that this never happened. My mother raised me way better than that.

This guy is the worst business owner ever. I hired hired him and left about 20 signs outside of my home. Further, his "employees" damaged furniture and left muddy tracks in my house. Additionally some of my belongings mysteriously ended up going missing. You should think twice before using this outfit. edit: Below Ben has attempted to claim this is a fake review. It is absolutely NOT a fake review. Please notice all the signs littering your neighborhood and judge for yourself.

I’ve never written a bad review in my life, but I can honestly say this was the worst professional experience I’ve ever had. I spoke with Ben on April 15th to schedule a move for April 25th. During our conversation, I explicitly told him that I had elevators reserved at both apartments only for the morning—9:00–11:00 AM for the move-out apartment and 10:00 AM–1:00 PM for the move-in apartment. He assured me that would be no problem.

Update: In response to my review below, Ben texted me that he would be sueing unless I remove this review. Which lends a question to the accuracy of his rating here and my review below, which you can take to your own. Rather than taking my word for it, you can make the decision based on the screenshots— if you need the conversation, I’m happy to share so you can see how Ben really conducts his business ——- Incredibly disappointing and unprofessional experience with Ben.

This review has no merit, and I am calling on Google to have this review deleted, as it in violation of their content policy. First and foremost, you are not a customer because you did not go through the channels to confirm an appointment, thus you did not have a customer experience.

Instead of paying for advertising, this business posts illegal advertisements up all over Philadelphia littering this city with visual blight. Look up “Ben the mover guy” on Reddit, multiple people from the city complaining about this but new ones keep popping up even after taken down by city workers. Update (June 2026): Instead of utilizing the no parking permit that the homeowners acquired, Ben took it upon himself to close down an entire city block the other day and reroute traffic Update 2: It appears Ben…

Things started a great when booking the job and the guy on the phone which I later found out was the owner, was very professional and friendly. Unfortunately it was all an act to get me to deposit and things turned for the worst. I called in the next day to get a simple update about my move and he immediately became defensive and very nasty. He immediately told me not to call in for "Stupid questions" and only communicate through email or SMS. Phone line is reserved for emergencies only.

I’m sorry but you must have me confused with someone else, I have never spoken to you before and none of this ever happened.

They asked me if I could change my move-out date 15 minutes after failing to show up to their 3-hour ETA window (with no communication). Full story below: With great advance notice, they gave me an 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM window for June 29. I coordinated everything according to our communication. On the day of the move, I anticipated some sort of update call in the morning, which was never delivered. I remained calm, figuring they were just busy or that morning updates might not be standard.

Great things: - All communication was through text - The guys were super nice the day of, albeit inadequately trained and careless Not so great things: - Ben was very slow to respond most of the time. - He texted the night before (!) to ask if we'd be able to reschedule to the next day (Tuesday) due to "personnel issues" - good thing we had an extra day we could stay in our old place. - These guys are not equipped or trained to move pianos. They damaged mine trying to wedge it in the front door. No padding.

Cannot recommend Ben and his team enough. Communication was timely and thorough and the price was very fair! Movers were on time and ready to go. Rob, Brian, and Zula were my 3 guys with the truck. They were fast, courteous, and just all around wonderful. They carefully wrapped my more fragile pieces of furniture and took great care of my things. I would definitely recommend using this local company for your move.

Ben has helped me move a number of times since 2010, and I've always been impressed with his professionalism and that of his crew. The process of booking is simple VIA email by filling out a form which consists of an inventory list, pickup and drop off locations, and preferred moving date. He shows up when he says he will, brings everything needed to ensure safe transport of valuable items, and he and his crew handle everything with care. No stress, efficient moving at a fair price. Thanks again guys.

This review is months overdue but we had a fantastic experience with Ben! Would absolutely recommend him. We moved from Philly to upstate New York and Ben and his crew made the process extremely easy, fast, and smooth. We got a lot of quotes from various movers, both local small businesses and national companies, and they were all just way more than we could afford. I don't know anyone living in a West Philly apartment who can afford a $10k move!

Mo and the team from Ben the Mover Guy did a phenomenal job with our move from Philly to the burbs this weekend. They showed up on time, hit the ground running and finished very quickly - they were MOVING!! Some curve balls popped up (furniture not fitting down steps, lightbulb accidentally broken) and they adapted and handled everything professionally, courteously, and expeditiously. This was my first time hiring movers, and these guys were great.
